I know how much Freepers hate Romney,so hence my question
In a word, Hell No (ok, two words).
The office of VP “isn’t worth a warm bucket of s*it”. What good would it do to have the conservative in that office, while the liberal is running the real show?
The only person I loathe just a shade less than Romney is Gingrich. I don’t even think I’d vote Third Party on that one. It would so disgust me I’d probably sit home.
I wonder if we’d even take a state.
What an utter nightmare that would be.

Gingrich/Santorum would be ideal.
Santorum/Gingrich would be livable.
Romney would be Purgatory, better than Hell that was Obama.

There is NOBODY conservative enough at the VP level to begin to balance out that slimy flip-flopping Massachusetts liberal. Romney and his RINO toadies can stick it.
Neither Romney or Gingrich would take the VP slot but Santorum would. The more likely question might be would you accept a Romney-Santorum ticket.

I don’t think Newt would be second to anyone. He’s running for president only, not for a “job”.
There isn’t a single person who Romney could choose as his running mate that would make him a good president.
We need a president that will take on the entrenched DC establishment. Romney isn’t going to do that. For that matter, neither will Santorum.
Please tell me how is Romney going to pick for his VP someone who “resigned in disgrace”, as Romney lied repeatedly in the debates. The media would never stop asking him how he could pick someone he said that about.

The only reason I suggest that a Romney-Santorum ticket is not out of the question is that if Romney comes up 100 or 200 delegates short I can see a marriage of convenience with Santorum bartering delegates for the VP slot.I do not think either man is going to let all their efforts to get on the national ticket go to waste.For Newt, it is personal. For Santorum, it is not.

We can navel gaze until the cows come home, but the delegates are who they are. They are voting as we speak. If they don't like Romney let them vote him down.
McCain was disaster for a lot of reasons, the biggest being his absolute refusal to go after Obama. But for some reason, the delgates went for him. And we were stuck.
So my point is how do we make lemonade out of lemons?

I find it very ironic that the grandson of a man who left the US to escape polygamy laws and had slaves, wants to head up the party that was FOUNDED to do away with Mormon polygamy and slavery.

What we do during the general election is obvious. It’s juvenile to say “I’ll sit home.” Yes, even if it’s Romney we will check the box that says “Liberal RINO.” But only because he is half a degree better than Obama.
The consequences of Romney getting the nomination will be after that. Most of the true conservatives will leave the Republican party. It’s going to happen. We’re done. The party is going to lose ten or twenty percent of its voters, or maybe more over the long run.
Only God knows where things go after that. Something new is created. Time will tell whether it’s good or bad.
There a person on this Earth who, by being VEEP, could make me choke down Romney as the nominee.

none of them have the juice to bring out enough of the base to matter.
1. romney loses 10-20% of the base by being mormon
2. gingrinch loses 10-20% due to the wife swapping and being old
3. and santorum doesn’t energize people enough to get them out of their seat
the left knows all this and also knows they have a hard leftie that energizes the base so much that even during these times he polls at 40-45% (amazing what kool-aid can do). any polls the left releases stating some gop candidate has a shot is really trying to steer the nomination towards that candidate.
