Fatal Addiction: Ted Bundy's Final Interview
Pure Intimacy ^ | 1/24/89 | Dr James Dobson

Posted on 03/21/2012 8:05:22 PM PDT by Linda Frances

Ted: I’m no social scientist, and I don’t pretend to believe what John Q. Citizen thinks about this, but I’ve lived in prison for a long time now, and I’ve met a lot of men who were motivated to commit violence. Without exception, every one of them was deeply involved in pornography - deeply consumed by the addiction. The F.B.I.’s own study on serial homicide shows that the most common interest among serial killers is pornographers. It’s true.

Regular porn is nothing like porn that has violence in it. And there is no “natural”progression from one to the other, someone has to have been damaged by a woman or had terrible relationships with women, plus a lot of other things wrong with them to even consider that to be what they would want to do to someone else.

Your right, regular porn, legal, is nothing like “illegal porn’ . I was making the point that Rick Santorum does not want to ban legal porn; he wants the laws enforced on “illegal porn” . As I mentioned to others, this interview was done 17 hours before he was executed and this is his only interview. He never asked Dobson for the interview that all the media wanted. Bundy wanted people to know the effects illegal porn has on people and what it did to him. He apparently thought Dr. Dobson was the only one who would give the facts that this man came from a good home, had everything going for him until this violent porn came into his life. It's all in the interview. In the end, God will judge him. That is what we all want, to see justice done.

Con man. Nothing more..nothing less.

They all have some kind of excuse to exonerate themselves.

He was executed 17 hours after this interview. He will be judged by the ultimate judge, who knows every heart. Justice will be done.

Yes, and one could use that data to form a hypothesis that people with tendencies toward these violent acts are using the porn, violent video games, movies, etc, as proxies, to satisfy their urges without resorting to crime. Serial killers are the terminal end of a psychological spectrum of sadistic sexual criminals, where their violent urges are tied to their sexual impulses. Normal men often redirect their healthy sexual urges in various ways, such as exercise, sports, hobbies, and, horror of horrors, masturbation and pornography. There’s certainly good reason to suspect that sexual sadists can redirect their abnormal urges in the same ways. It would explain why most serial killers collect trophies, return to the scenes of their previous crimes, watch pornography, and often try to get jobs where they are in some position of authority. Many serial killers have flat out said that they use these substitutes to postpone their urge to kill again.

Ted: I’m no social scientist

Nope, he wasn’t. What he was, was a manipulative, calculating serial killer. Ted Bundy’s endorsement does not help any viewpoint.

He wasn’t endorsing anything. He just told Dr. Dobson what illegal porn did to him. In the end, he was judged, just 17 hours later, by a God who knows every person’s heart and sees all. Justice was done.

Donna, I was trying to help people understand that Rick Santorum doesn’t want to make new porn laws, he just wants the current laws on “illegal porn” enforced, because this is what it can led to.

“believe that social conservatives, of whom I count myself one on many issues, do a great disservice to our cause and to their own cause when they seek to legislate in areas best left to the grace of God.”/

But what if those same issues(”left to the grace of God”) grow into the very cancers that liberals are using to destroy our country?

For our country and others in the world, it has become a “who is on the Lord’s side” issue not just a freedom issue...there is very little time left. You can sense it in the fear of judgment that has pervaded the fashionable “2012 apocalypse” or the the “planet Nibiru” believing sects. Whether or not these issues have anything thing true about them or not is not the issue, it is the palpable fear of judgment that has been affecting many of late.
Perhaps the alien space people will save us or a “one world government with a new world order”? Who shall lead us out our dull perplexities and our nameless dread?

Speaking of Issues “best left to the grace of God”, Revelation speaks of the “woman giving Birth to a child” who is taken up into Heaven to later rule the Earth “with a rod of Iron”? Could you live in such a world where drunkeness, pornography, fornication, abortion, contraception ect ( all the “bad” various behaviours and thought patterns that “free men” make their own choices about, which should be left to God’s grace, as you’ve stated) are ruthlessly forbidden?

It is why even in America, there was always going to be at some point a breaking away from its founding Christian moorings (and that those of righteous faith will come into conflict with our own systems of governing). For the suceeding generations of peoples have forgotten their Christian roots, even scoffing at the simple faith of our forefathers and scoffing at notions of patriotism and singular nationalism. Washington said that it was “Morality and Faith” that were the “twin props” of our freedoms and when we lost those, we lost the country in that we lost the Judeao-Christian consensus of the population that was in operation when the Constituion was forged.
Thus our constitution and is principles have become twisted and mangled, its contexts misintepreted deliberately by ruthless men governed by that spirit of Lawlessness and by even more shadowy men and forces who hate the Christ because he is Lord, God in the flesh! It is he, by the Spirit, that writes his Laws of Love and righteousness in the inward parts of those who still love him and desire to see his Glory manifested in this nation and in the world!

Thus as our Country darkens, those who are in the Light will shine brighter and shame those darkened “elites” who will, “in the name of the Constituion” ,will behave unconstitutionally against the righteous of this nation!

I know wikipedia isn’t all that great, but there was a lot more going on in his household then it being a “good Christian home”, with signs of insanity from an early age. Take a look at the wiki page.

There are so many different stories about his growing up years out their. If you look at wiki, they have different stories about his family life. During trial he tried the “It’s not my fault, it was my family life” excuse. He lied and kept saying he did not do it, up until just before he was executed. In the end I think he was terrified about facing God and finally said he was guilty of all the deaths and that it wasn’t his families fault. He did think when he found the violent porn, it changed him.

This is one of the Wiki pages on him.
Ted Bundy was born Theodore Robert Cowell to Louise Cowell on November 24, 1946, at the Elizabeth Lund Home for Unwed Mothers in Burlington, Vermont. After eight weeks at the home Louise returned to her parents’ house in Philadelphia to raise her new son. For the first several years of his life Ted thought his grandparents were his parents and his mother was his sister. In 1951 Louise and Ted moved to Tacoma, Washington and Louise married Johnnie Bundy, a military cook.
Bundy’s Teenage Years:

Despite his parental circumstances and meager surroundings Bundy was well behaved and grew into an attractive teen who was generally liked and who performed well in school. After high school he entered the University of Puget Sound and continued to do well academically, but felt uncomfortable around his fellow peers who were predominantly wealthy. In his sophomore year Bundy transferred to the University of Washington to escape the uncomfortable feeling of his financial inadequacy.

Linda, thank you for posting this interview. As expected, many FReepers ignored the message and denied the dangers of porn.

Many more attacked Bundy as self serving. But this one quote caught my attention:

“What I hope will come of our discussion is that I think society deserves to be protected from itself.”

Ted Bundy was correct about this. And unfortunately our society has failed to learn much of anything about the depravities of men like Bundy.

We do not have enough jails to hold those convicted of sex crimes against our children. And so we let them loose on our societies only to be appalled that they rape, molest and even murder more children again and again.

And if you follow the logic of many FReepers, there is no ban against pornography in the Constitution, so you are a Nanny Stater go-gooder tyring to impose your views on others if you dare to even support a ban on porn.

In the mean time... the raping of our children continues.

I was trying to point out the kind of illegal porn that Rick Santorum wants laws enforced on. A lot of people out there are saying Rick wants to ban all porn. He will not make new porn laws, only enforce what is already on the books.

Your right. There is strong evidence that porn is harmful. The illegal porn collates with higher rates of violent crime.

Remind me again - how many times has Hugh Hefner been convicted of murder, manslaughter, assault and battery, any violence?
Not saying that Hefner is a model citizen living a model lifestyle, but somehow he seems to have avoided violent crime, and how much porn has he looked at anyway?

Accepting Ted Bundy’s excuses for his murders just makes the people accepting the excuses look like dingbats of the first order.

Alternative hypothesis: Ted was bored on death row, so he came up with various attention-getting cons, this being one of them. Give the marks what they want.

Ted Bundy ate food, therefore eating is a gateway to violent murders.

Hugh Hefner sells “legal” porn. Bundy found some “illegal porn” in some boxes in an alley. Rick does not want to ban porn, he just wants the laws against “illegal porn” enforced.

At trial he tried to lie first saying he didn’t do it. Then he tried “it’s my families fault, the way I was raised.” Then he’s crazy. His lawyers were looking for ways to get him off.

What Bundy did was unexcusable and horrific. Justice was served through his execution. I think for probably the first time in his life he realized he was going to face God and was scared. He should be. Everyone wanted his interview and he did not give it 17 hours before his execution. He called Dr. Dobson to interview him. The media was ticked that Dr. Dobson got it and not them.

Again, a lot of people were saying that Rick Santorum wants to ban porn and he doesn’t. He wants laws enforced on Illegal porn.

——Billy Graham:
Pornography treats people as mere objects to be used for our own selfish gratification. Pornography also destroys the meaning of true love. The Bible is clear: “But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality,

or of any kind of impurity” (Ephesians 5:3).——

Pornography has destroyed countless marriages. The causal relationship hardly needs proof, except for those who will accept none.

http://www.recoveryranch.com/articles/sex-addiction/more-attorneys-say-internet-pornography-a-factor-in-divorce/

A personal testimony, for the hard-hearted (http://www.squidoo.com/herheart):

How has this effected my marriage? It has stolen my husband from me. In result of his addiction, he has become incredibly irritated, moody, & angry, His behavior toward the children and I are unfavorable. He becomes depressed and has low self esteem. My husband the man I believed could hang the moon. My hero. He’s fallen into a black hole. I know I can’t change him, but I thought if I could some how love more, pray more, forgive more he would change. I have discovered that there is nothing I can do to help him. In fact I have hurt him by becoming his enabler. Although I believed otherwise all these years.

t has been difficult to find resources that deal with a sexual addition. I’ve bought material from the bible book store & from pure life ministries that has given me insight into the addiction, but I needed a resource for me, a wife of a porn addict. What am I suppose to do? What are the steps I have to take?... I do not want to give another minute of my life to an addict. I love him but he needs help. And that’s where I am today... He either gets the help he needs and deserves or I am leaving (this time I am). I’ve said it hundreds of times before so I know he doesn’t believe me. By staying I am hurting him by enabling him, I am hurting myself and my children.

Yeah. Harmless. Right.

Everyone is saying Rick Santorum wants to ban porn. He does not want any new laws. He wants laws enforced on Illegal porn, like what Bundy had. Many people actually believe that Rick wants to ban all porn and that is not true.

Another testimonial (they’re not hard to find):

back again

Mar 6, 2012 @ 11:22

amwell I had commented back in December about my husbands porn problem. Since then, we have gotten rid of the internet in the house, neither one of us has a smart phone or tablet or anyway of accessing internet. I threw away the 40+ DVDs that was collected before our marriage.

After, the last time i caught him I told him that one more incident and that was it, I couldn’t handle another lie, another fight. He refused therapy. And just last week, we were at his parents house while a pretty bad storm was going through. He had made a comment about downloading a movie for us to watch, which raised my concern. So, I checked his parents computer and surprise, surprise more porn.

What man gets so desperate that he downloads porn on his parents computer and then puts it on a thumbdrive to watch...wtf? So, I’ve kicked him out and I am contemplating divorce. This is just a really crappy situation because now this will leave me a single mother with 2 kids from 2 different men. Who could ever want to be with me again with all that baggage.

I never intended my husband and I to divorce and wanted more children with him. We have only been fighting about this for about 4 months, with about 5 different occurances and him saying he would stop. So, I guess my problem is how early is too early to give up? If he considers therapy, do I stay? I honestly don’t think I can. The trust is gone! My self esteem is ruined! Any suggestions?

One explanation is that at the end he tried to make right with God. Another is that he was screwing around with people whom he was able to screw around with for his own entertainment. You believe one, I believe the other. Since he's now dead, it doesn't make much difference, but I remain suspicious of the “Bad pictures turned me evil” defense.

The men of FR think America was founded on freedom to use porn. They refuse to think about what will/has happened to our culture.

Rick is not the one talking about this all the time. The media, romney and fox wants you to believe that is all he is talking about. That are the ones always talking about, because they want Rick to look bad and because they want romney to win. I don’t believe what the media says about Newt. I think he is a good guy and would be a good president, but I think we have to stop believing everything the media says about our candidates. We are not democrats who are so gulliable that they take the media says for fact. We look closer and for the truth.

It isn’t a victimless crime. We can certainly see the resistance to the truth on this thread.
