I got this idea on a thread about Santorum's recent comments about Romney vs. Obama and the posters there had me rolling with what/who they would vote for over Obama so let's give this a whirl.....

I approach every election from dog catcher to POTUS exactly the same way: I vote for the best candidate on the ballot.

Rarely, I will “no-vote”. This happens more often in local elections because I don’t know much about either candidate; less often because I’m ideologically opposed to all the candidates running.

I don’t write in candidates.

Neither do I vote for a candidate I believe is less capable because the chattering classes maintain that he or she “can win”. I always vote for the candidate who is in my opinion the best choice for the job, not the most popular with other voters.

Those are my personal rules. Now for a couple examples:

1) Texas primary — Myth, Ricky and Newt are running (Ron Paul can go to hell, he’s not even a candidate IMO). I will proudly and enthusiastically vote Newt, because I believe he is the best choice. I don’t give a rat’s ass about the chatter that Santorum could beat Romney (or Romney could beat Obama). Neither Santorum nor Romney is the best choice to lead the country. Newt is the best choice.

2) Texas primary, again. Newt has dropped out. I would hold my nose and vote Santorum — I think he sucks, but there is at least daylight between him and Myth, who sucks much worse. I wouldn’t write in Newt (or Rick Perry or whatshername from Alaska).

3) POTUS election and it comes down to Barky and Myth. But Myth emerged as the winner from a vigorous convention fight that forced him to the right — and during the ensuing campaign against Barky, Myth maintained that conservative stance. I’d likely vote for Myth in this scenario.

4) Myth waltzes to the nomination, and afterwards shakes the ol’ Etch-a-sketch and runs a center-left campaign against Barky. HONESTLY I DON’T KNOW how I would vote in this scenario; maybe no vote (and stop off at Cabela’s afterwards to beef up my bug out kit).

Good question, Hope that helps, and FRegards

You know that filmy ring of residue left in the sink after your morning shave?

I’d vote for the grubby sponge I use to clean that away before I’d vote for Marxy Bigears.

—You are part of the conservatve’s problem.
My candidate or none! —

Actually that is not my mantra. I’ve had several candidates in this thing, but since 2008 I’ve said that even if he were running against hitler I would not vote for Romney. And the more I know, the more I stand behind it.

Sometimes doing the right thing brings a world of hurt, but in the long run it is still the right thing to do. Ask Stephen the Martyr. Or any number of characters in the bible. Doing the right thing does not always immediately destroy evil. But it does in the end.

I consider Obama to be the worst president this nation has ever known and could lead to its downfall. I consider Romney to be worse.

He is just a pale Obama - no difference

You don't think there's a difference between a hard core Marxist and a RINO? Do you really think Romney will fill his cabinet with the likes of Van Jones and Sunnenstein? Really?

No.

I’m a voter, not a hostage.

Why do we now have to work so damn hard to STOP a Romney nomination when the GOP-E, KNEW that Masscare was a FATAL DISQUALIFICATION for the nomination in the first place?

Now Romney’s got Coulter, Drudge, Rove, and dozens of others drooling on his kneecaps this late in the process. Millions of dollars and millions of volunteer hours will have been wasted because somebody couldn’t talk sense to this guy THE DAY MASSCARE PASSED THE MASSSACHUSETTS SENATE!!

All it would have taken was, “Mitt, nice work, but you know you can’t be the nominee, right? You know that was the price, right?”

Nope, like Dole, like McCain, he was next in line.

So, yeah. The GOP picked their candidate over a year ago, and they are PISSED we aren’t going along with it. Peggy Noonan wrote as much about a month ago.

There WAS a nominee. We changed that at the grass roots, but at what point is this party going to get a clue in to the idea that it is time to FINALLY give a conservative a shot at it.

Sorry, but its guys like you that are trying to hang the future of the country on guys like me who WILL NOT STAY ON THE RESERVATION when I WASN’T THE GUY WHO LEFT IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!

Nope, if you get Obama. Do. Not. Blame. Me. You can blame the Cardinals in the GOP college that sent the white smoke up the chimney on this fraud from before the first primary. Romney was a presumption. You are trying to perpetrate that presumption.

For me, I think Gingrich SHOULD stay in. Between Santorum and Gingrich, they should pull every free-thinking, liberty-cherishing conservative left in the party and when they go to broker the convention, they can be a ticket and send Romney back to the People’s Republic of Massachusetts.

So SICK of the lectures about another four years of Obama.

Can you IMAGINE if McCain had actually won? I’m glad this idiot had to pull the scabs off of all the banks, the CME, ratings agencies, Fannie, Freddie, and Sallie. The D’s created this in the first place during Rubin/Clinton - LET THEM OWN IT!

Obama went so much better than owning the economy. He assaulted the church, bilked taxpayers out of billions, destroyed the commodities market with Corzine, etc.

If we win, let it be a conservative, or let the idiot Obama completely destroy the country. We apparently aren’t smart enough to learn from the last 100 years worth of mistakes. Before its over, I’ll be dead, or we’ll be chasing liberals down in the streets with weapons.

I’d rather not see it come to that, but if Romney gets the nod, Obama wins by default. “Thanks for the idea for Obamacare, Mitt, I couldn’t have done it without you!” And that’s it. That’s the election.

So please, peddle the ‘Obama is going to be your fault’ among McConnell, Cantor, and the rest of the college of Cardinals that picked that charlatan in the first place.

I’m not buying it, and neither should any sentient being still left in the conservative caucus.

Moreover, IF you vote for Romney, you are now personally responsible for what he’s about to perpetrate, which is a half-hearted attempt at repealing Obamacare, (which was his idea), and a temporary liberal lovefest from the press when he gives up and learns to love it.

He’ll bask in the love from the MSM, the narcissist that he is, until he needs them again, and like every other DC Republican, he’ll be shocked to find the press has turned on him.

You want me to get behind Etch-A-Sketch?

I like Cain but aren’t we lucky his Clinton-like problems came out before he elected him our nominee?

We all saw what the media did to Palin and her family. What person in their right mind would go through that?
We went to Searchlight when the Tea Party tried to get rid of Harry Reid. We almost made it except, for the candidate they ran against him. She scared off the people in the middle. She was too green to go up against Harry and his unions.

We need to get this leftist media put into it’s place before we will have decent people running for office.
Look what they are doing to Rush and to the Gov of WI.
Add to that what Sheriff Joe of AZ is going thru.
This country has a lot of really tough issues besides this election.

Anybody but Obama is death to his fascist state goals. Bo and his old media are masters at dividing his opposition. I predict many will stay at home because their candidate failed to get the nomination. This approach will deliver 4 more years of the hate-filled kenyan marxist. We will have lost our country.

Sorry but I can not and will not vote for Romney should he be the Republican candidate under any circumstances.

Most evangelicals I know who know their Bibles, theology and have studied the cult of Mormonism will also not vote for Romney under any circumstances.

Not only is Romney a Mormon, the man is a "TEMPLE Mormon. He is a CULT LEADER. When he was living in MA he was the highest ranking Mormon in the state, holding a rank in the cult equal to that of a Cardinal in the RC church. It is impossible for me or other genuine evangelicals I know to vote for a man who believes with all his heart that he is going to become the "god' of his own planet on par with the Lord Jesus Christ and that his wife is going to perpetually pump out "spirit children" like the queen alien in the movie Aliens and that the sole purpose of these so-called "spirit children" will be to populate god Romney's planet in order to WORSHIP and SERVE "god mit" for all of eternity! This is what this clown and his wife believes and this belief totally colors what he thinks of himself, others and how he lives his life! To place Romney in a position of authority over the entire United States would be unconscionable and before Almighty God, my family and I can not and will not vote for him, under any circumstances.

On top of all the above Romney is a RINO and totally untrustworthy. You cannot trust ANY position he says he supports or stands on because he will change his position in a heartbeat if it suits his purpose and benefits him. Just as his own campaign manager admitted; Romney is the Etch A Sketch candidate. This was how he governed in MA when he was in charge.

I respect your choices in 1 and 2. I expect your choice 4 is what will happen if Romney wins the nomination.

What anyone who buys into this "ABO" meme is telling you is that Barack Obama is now their plumb line.

Instead of what it should be:

PRINCIPLE.

We’ve gone through supporting the entire litany of candidates based on principle. They were thoroughly trashed here one by one. If Romney is the last man standing I will vote for him based on my anti-communist, anti-black liberation theology principles.

Read post #25.
MassCare is run by the state. Big difference in my mind!

You can move out of a state if you don’t like it. Let each state decide how to approach healthcare. Leave the fed out of it, PERIOD!
He has promised to do away with Obamacare too many times to go back on his word. We can hold him and the House to that promise and work to get enough votes in the senate to go along.
It’s not as easy as going to the polls and voting and then go on with your daily life forgetting the troubles we have. We have to let our leaders know that we will hold their feet to the fire and make them keep those promises.

I still remember what we got when so many decided to vote third party against Bush sr. He’s a rino, they said well, we got filth in the WH just like we have today.
It seems history repeats itself as long as people don’t learn valuable lessons from the past.

Video Uncovered: Romney in ‘02: ‘Only Connection’ to the Republican Party Is My Party Registration

The Blaze ^ | 3/23/12

Posted on Friday, March 23, 2012 1:26:15 PM by My Favorite Headache

With his conservative credentials still taking fire over “Etch A Sketchgate,” Mitt Romney is facing a new potential obstacle to his argument that he is unfailingly a Republican.

A 2002 clip, posted Friday on BuzzFeed, shows then-Massachusetts gubernatorial candidate Romney declaring that his “only connection” to the Republican Party in the state is that “I’m registered as a Republican.”
