The pictures of Martin in the press, were supposedly several years old. He was actually 6ft 4 and a football player, very awesome in appearance. In addition some articles indicated that Zimmerman was facially bloody with grass stains on the back of his shirt, which indicates Martin was beating on him when he was on the ground.
The press isn't going to be happy until Zimmerman is murdered. Spike Lee, Farrakan, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, the New Black Panther Party, and Obama are trying to stir up race riots.
Isn’t going to matter. They’re going to crucify this poor stupid SOB no matter what actually happened. The race baiters and the hysterical anti-white (and I know Zimmerman isn’t) animosity they’re whipping up will demand. Craven authorities and politicians will acquiesce.
He may actually deserve prison, I don’t know. The only version of events we have, supported by the evidence, suggests he was maliciously attacked and fired in justifiable self defense. The police version my contradict that version but until then it’s all we have.
He’s 6’4 now? When will he be 6’8??
I call it the PPP. Perpetual Pity Party. It’s pretty much all most of them have or want.
Trayvon Martin was a bully in high school with gang tattoo's ...
If he had tattoos, he kept them well hidden. He was very busy kid: an A-B student, a football player, a fisherman ... and a gang bully. Wow, just wow.
The issue in this sad story that makes me mad, is how everyone is jumping the gun so to speak before all the facts are viewed. I honestly do not know what really happened and who is at fault. I do know though that the left has concluded that Zimmerman is guilty, period. The biggest offender is Our President who stated the we need to do “soul searching”..............
For what, is he drawing a conclusion before knowing all the facts. Will this lead to another “beer summit” moment.
Both sides need to let this play out and let all the facts come out before making statements and protesting in the streets.
So what you could be saying is critical race theory will trump the rule of law?
Is it possible that maybe, just maybe that isn’t a current picture?
We know there was a physical fight. Which of the two was “the attacker” is not known. It appears that at the time the gun went off the shootee was on top and probably winning the fight.
This is not inherently inconsistent with him defending himself from an attack by Zimmerman, or at least believing he was defending himself.
I don’t KNOW what happened, and neither does anybody but Zimmerman, and his recollections are inevitably colored by emotion, etc.
What does seem pretty clear is that the ancient common law rule of “duty to retreat” had a good common sense basis behind it. Two guys get in a fight, and one is killed.
Such fights do not always lend themselves to classifying one guy as the attacker and the other as the victim. Sometimes two guys are both at fault. The law should not allow for whichever person survives to claim self-defense. Both can be guilty of attempted murder, with one succeeding.
Please note I do not know this is what happened here. Only that ancient common law principles evolved for a reason.
It’s interesting how you sprinkle little lies in among the data you spittle. Knitting for little barry bastard, Jesse Jackasson and Al Dulltoon with that yarm you spin?
The whole things contains as much hyperbole as one which claims Zimmerman was a cross between a knight of the KKK and Batman.
And for the insider who answered - Zimmerman didnt call 911 to report a suspicious person; he called dispatch.
Is it possible that maybe, just maybe, those are the same white and red sneakers he was wearing the night he got shot?
He called 911 - you can see the read out of many of the 911 calls he made.
It's gated in the sense that it is private property marked with signs, a low wall around the boundary and a security gate across the entrances. Whether the gates were kept closed at all times, just at night, or even maintained at all is another question.
The young man was allegedly wearing red shoes when he was shot and he is wearing read shoes in the picture so that must mean the picture is a recent one? Wow that is an amazing bit of deductive logic you have demonstrated there.
You think Zimmerman had a duty to attempt to dig an escape hole, as he was on the ground getting his face smashed in?
And the press posse wants to hang the survivor without getting to the fact. Fox New is reporting that there is a contemporaneous statement by an eyewitness who said Zimmerman was on the ground with Martin on top; also it is reported that Zimmerman had a broken nose.
The problem is that the MSM is NOT trying to report both sides of the proffered information and they are locking themselves into a locked position as they did with the Jena Six. There is a lot to come out yet, but MSM is deliberately sowing racial hate.
I’m glad you posted that. I saw a picture of the “gated community” the other day and thought that it was not what it was made out to be by the press. It was an apartment complex, not multi-million dollar houses. If a lot of what the press is presenting is not correct (the gated community, the years old picture of the deceased, etc.), then the rest of the story is probably not correct either.
The police version supports the Zimmerman claim of self-defense.
There has been a lot of media attention to the recent incident where George Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon Martin. This is indeed a tragic situation and has caused a flood of questions and strong emotions from within our community, the region and nation. On behalf of the employees of the city of Sanford, our deepest sympathy and prayers go out to the family and friends of Trayvon Martin. As a father, I can only image the pain Trayvons family must be going though. In an effort to continue to be as responsive as possible to the public seeking information on the incident, I have asked Chief Lee to provide answers to some of the most frequently asked questions regarding this matter. Below are his responses. Please understand that since this is still an ongoing investigation, the Police Department is limited in what information it can publicly release.
The city of Sanford is committed to (ensuring) that justice is served and, therefore, the city of Sanford has contacted the United States Attorney Generals Office for assistance in this matter.
The men and women of the Sanford Police Department extend our heartfelt sympathies to the Martin family. This is indeed a tragic situation. The death of anyone due to violence, especially a 17-year-old young man, is morally appalling. As this incident has generated a lot of media attention, we wanted to provide answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.
Why was George Zimmerman not arrested the night of the shooting?
When the Sanford Police Department arrived at the scene of the incident, Mr. Zimmerman provided a statement claiming he acted in self-defense which at the time was supported by physical evidence and testimony. By Florida statute, law enforcement was PROHIBITED from making an arrest based on the facts and circumstances they had at the time. Additionally, when any police officer makes an arrest for any reason, the officer MUST swear and affirm that he/she is making the arrest in good faith and with probable cause. If the arrest is done maliciously and in bad faith, the officer and the city may be held liable.
According to Florida Statute 776.032:
776:032 Immunity from criminal prosecution and civil action for justifiable use of force.
(1) A person who uses force as permitted in s. 776.012, s. 776.013, or s. 776.031 is justified in using such force and is immune from criminal prosecution and civil action for the use of such force, unless the person against whom force was used is a law enforcement officer, as defined in s. 943.10(14), who was acting in the performance of his or her official duties and the officer identified himself or herself in accordance with any applicable law or the person using force knew or reasonably should have known that the person was a law enforcement officer. As used in this subsection, the term criminal prosecution includes arresting, detaining in custody, and charging or prosecuting the defendant.
(2) A law enforcement agency may use standard procedures for investigating the use of force as described in subsection (1), but the agency may not arrest the person for using force unless it determines that there is probable cause that the force that was used was unlawful.
Why the 911 tapes are not yet released?
There are exemptions to the public records laws for active criminal intelligence and for ongoing investigations. In this instance, the 911 calls made by neighbors in the subdivision, and the nonemergency call made by Mr. Zimmerman are all key to the investigation by Sanford Police Department. In consultation with the Office of the State Attorney, the Sanford police department has decided not to release the audio recordings of the 911 calls due to the ongoing investigation.
Many times, specific information is contained in those recordings which is vital to the integrity of the investigation. Should it be revealed, the information may compromise the integrity of the investigation prior to its completion.
Why did Mr. Zimmerman have a firearm in his possession while acting in the role of a neighborhood watch member?
Mr. Zimmerman holds a concealed weapon permit issued from the State of Florida. He is authorized to carry the weapon in a concealed manner wherever Florida Statute dictates. Neighborhood Watch programs are designed for members of a neighborhood to be eyes and ears for police and to watch out for their neighbors. They are not members of the Police Department nor are they vigilantes. Training provided by law enforcement agencies to Neighborhood Watch organizations stresses non-contact surveillance of suspicious situations and notifying police of those situations so that law enforcement can respond and take control of the situation.
Mr. Zimmerman was not acting outside the legal boundaries of Florida Statute by carrying his weapon when this incident occurred. He was in fact on a personal errand in his vehicle when he observed Mr. Martin in the community and called the Sanford Police Department.
If Zimmerman was told not to continue to follow Trayvon, can that be considered in this investigation?
Yes, it will; however, the telecommunications call taker asked Zimmerman, Are you following him. Zimmerman replied, Yes." The call taker stated you dont need to do that. The call takers suggestion is not a lawful order that Mr. Zimmerman would be required to follow.
Zimmermans statement was that he had lost sight of Trayvon and was returning to his truck to meet the police officer when he says he was attacked by Trayvon.
Why was George Zimmerman labeled as squeaky clean when in fact he has a prior arrest history?
In one of the initial meetings with the father of the victim the investigator related to him the account that Mr. Zimmerman provided of the incident. At that time the investigator said that Mr. Zimmerman portrayed himself to be squeaky clean." We are aware of the background information regarding both individuals involved in this event. We believe Mr. Martin may have misconstrued this information.
What about media re-enactments of the shooting incident?
Any media re-enactments of the shooting incident are purely speculation. To date the Sanford Police Department has not released any rendition of the events of the evening to anyone other than the Office of the State Attorney. The renditions we have seen are not consistent with the evidence in this case.
The Sanford Police Department has conducted a complete and fair investigation of this incident. We have provided the results of our investigation to the Office of the State Attorney for their review and consideration for possible criminal prosecution.
Although the Police Department is the target of the troubling questions, let me assure you we too feel the pain of this senseless tragedy that has dramatically affected our community. Therefore, as we move forward and strive to answer the questions that are a point of controversy in the community, we ask for your patience, understanding and assistance in getting the correct information to the community.

That’s my guess. We’ll see.
It is a gated community because I saw the gate from the main road just outside of it using the Street View feature of Google Maps. It looks like the gate is open during the day per the photos and probably closes at night.
Post #129 on that thread has a up to date photo.
Nothing like the little child they show in media pictures.
Apparently they could not find a photo of him in cap and gown. This is the usual photo used when a perp is caught. (A perp that they want to elicit sympathy for.) They have become predictable.
Yep, you an bet the one in the media is NOT a current pic.
That picture is probably as old as your sign up date.
He lived like a thug. He dressed like a thug. He acted like a thug. He behaved like a thug. He died like a thug.
Get over it.
The call itself is answered, "Sanford Police Department, line is being recorded. This is Sean" who then waits for George to speak. The 911 calls from all the neighbors are answered, "911 - do you need police, fire, or rescue?"
There are houses in the community. Mr. Zimmerman corrected the policeman’s assumption that he lived in an apartment.
“This is the most complete, coherent description of events I have seen yet”
This is how “I thought” it went down piecing together various statements/reports. But since it was speculation I held off since I was criticizing the Freepers whom had no issue speculating that Zimmerman was a cold blooded murdering racist.
I hope you’re wrong.
Is it possible that maybe, just maybe, someone might own two pairs of white and red sneakers during the course of their (short, violent) life?
Is it possible that maybe, just maybe, Zimmerman is as guilty as the Duke Lacrosse team members who were falsely accused of sexual assault?
There is zero evidence that Zimmerman prevented a potential crime, or that Martin had criminal intent. And it is plausible to believe Martin felt threatened by Zimmerman's behavior and was, in his 17 year old brain, defending himself.
The left will do what the left does...exploit victims. They'll turn the Martin kid into a martyred saint for the cause.
But so far, it seems Zimmerman could have simply phoned it in and left it alone. No crime had been committed, nor was one in progress. His decision to pursue Martin has brought enormous turmoil to Zimmerman's own family, a dead 17 year old, and given the victim pimps a new corpse to parade in front of the cameras.
This was a completely unnecessary tragedy.
Physician, heal thyself.
What’s the deal about being 6’4”? It’s only an inch off. Most of what I read said 6’3”, but he really wasn’t built that big weight-wise.
The pictures of him are when he was 13. Part of the propaganda effort.
When the media says “gated community” people think of million $++ estates on acreage, not an apartment complex.
See post 25 for the link to up to date photo.
Thanks for the clarification.
I agree. Those are not 911 calls.
What’s eyeopening to me about that call list is that it goes back to 2004. I’m guessing when Zimmerman started with his neighborhood watch. The first calls came through 911 but eventually he started calling into dispatch.
What struck me the most, is that Zimmerman DOES NOT do the neighborhood watch thing that often. Looks to be once a month and sometimes three or four months go by without doing anything.
Now this could be that he does do neighborhood watch alot but doesn’t call in that much. Either way, it certainly does not support the the left-wing media take that Zimmerman was an out of control little Chekist that liked to stick his nose in other people’s business, nor does it support the sycophants here complaining that Zimmerman is nothing more than a jack-booted thug copwannabe in training.
Gated communities, whether super nice estates, condos, or apartments, seem to be the trend to help keep out the riff-raff.
None of knows what really happened, but, if you are trespassing in a gated community, and you are dressed like a gangster, you msy be mistaken for one.
Of course Martin attacked Zimmerman, to believe otherwise is to imply that Zimmerman was just driving around popping caps into any black men he saw that night.
Zimmerman saved the justice system millions jailing this punk. Zimmerman should be given a medal and the key to the city.
IMO there WILL be a HOT civil war for the survival of our republic. I believe it is inevitable AND I believe it is coming soon. Now it is becoming more and more apparent who will be on what side ...
Get over it."
Just because it needs to be said again...and again...and again...and again...
I understand the clarification - just not sure it is a technicality most would appreciate.
Sorry, Post #129 has been removed by the moderator. Presumably from one of those outfits that won’t allow photos to be linked here.
I’ve heard it said repeatedly that he looks nothing like those younger photos that have been released, but I have yet to see an actual photo.
He was kicked out of school for 5 days before this happened, but we also don’t know what his offense was.
Still, I think the probabilities are that the kid was a thug. He was trespassing in a gated community. And as someone said on another thread, the only reasonable explanation for why there was no round in the chamber but a full magazine is that they were struggling over the gun and Zimmerman’s hand, caught on it in the struggle, prevented it from reloading the chamber as it would normally do.
Also, he was evidently hit on the back of his head, suggesting that Martin attacked him after he turned away to go back to his car. Grass on his back, all the rest of it, the probabilities certainly favor Martin.
No, but if you pursue someone and a fight develops, it’s pretty tough to claim you were acting in self-defense.
One of the few things that is perfectly clear about this case is that Zimmerman initiated the confrontation. The kid was just walking home minding his own business.
When I was 17 and walking alone at night it would certainly have scared me if an unknown, ununiformed guy had followed me in his car and then chased me on foot.
So it is at minimum plausible that Zimmerman started the violence, was losing the fight and resorted to his pistol to win. The law, even the arguably flawed stand your ground law, does not allow one to start a fight and then kill the other guy if you start losing. That is not self-defense, it is aggravated assault followed by manslaughter or second-degree murder.
Now I don’t know that is what happened. But then neither does anybody else. And it is just as plausible as Zimmerman’s story.
