Check out tonight's sky!
Hopefully it's clear in your area, and the sharp waning moon has a super bright Venus at its five o'clock; and the very bright Jupitor at its six o'clock and lower in the sky.
Georgeous!
My bride and I follow the celestial orbs closely each evening. One of us will look up to see their relative positions and ultimately say, “there’s Uranus.”
I use Stellarium (very good, and free) to keep me informed as to what's coming in the skies. It takes a bit of poking on it to get it set up, but it is well worth the time.
That's why the full moon is so bright...all that waxing for 14 nights.
Just went out and looked at it. Definitely beautiful. Got the kids(B20, G17) out there to see it to. Thanks
KStars is a free program for linux.
There are also some pretty cool planetarium apps you can get for your Apple or Android phone.
...dem dar Vulcans sure do live long and prosper!
From North Houston all I can see is the moon and, I guess, Venus. Must be too many city lights.
‘A beautiful cool and clear night______’
Ditto here in Ventura County, Calif.
Seen right from our front door! Alerted 3 daughters and their families in the county.
Should also alert daughter and family in Colorado - - - texting . . .
Thanks, FR!
Socked in in Bay area. No moon.
>> “Thanks - whats a waxing vs waning moon??” <<
.
Waxing = getting bigger, Waning = getting smaller.
.
Gorgeous in Colorado .
Can’t see nothing but the flashing lights of the one armed bandits here in Reno! I’ll have to check things out by the Mustang Ranch where I’m headed.
I was out picking my spring flowers before the hard freeze hits tonight. The sky was so beautiful at dusk. I called my daughter, who took the little ones out to see.
It’s been great to see winter constellations in summer evening weather!
My favorite sight in the sky is Orion in the west at dusk, meaning, spring is here!
Boy is that beautiful. I can really ‘see’ Orion the Hunter in that photo.
Az does have a lovely clear sky. I like a fool tried to photograph it with my digital camera, uhhh flash no light up universe.
I’m sorry about the freeze after all your flowers started blooming nit! That’s a true shame.....
............One of us will look up to see their relative positions and ultimately say, theres Uranus.............
I can only hope that you, not your bride, are able to check that out!
