If the news headline is that he pointedly directed his audience to hear his 2000 song American Skin (41 Bullets) now as a parable for Trayvon Martin, the music story of this show is that Springsteen has broken through to a new level of interest in beats, rhythms, and ways to keep his old music fresh, for himself and for his fans.

I still listen to Thunder Road when I get ready for roadtrips. I think Darkness is his best album although Born to Run created the most hits. (Grew up off of highway 9)
With 57 Channels and Nothing On, it was confirmed; Springsteen jumped the shark.
In the 80s one of his videos prominently featured the 6-million-homeless lie that was then making the rounds.
Having been to many Springsteen concerts as well as others I would give AC/DC, KISS Aerosmith,Bon Jovi,Cheap Trick and ZZ Top a notch up on Springsteen when it comes to R&R.
BTW the # 1 R&R band is The Rolling Stones IMHO.
