GOOD MILITARY MONDAY TO AMY’S PLACE!

The Soldier’s Code

1) I am an American fighting man. I serve in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.

2) I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender my men while they still have the means to resist.

3) If I am captured, I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

4) If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me, and will back them up in every way.

5) When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am bound to give only name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies, or harmful to their cause.

6) I will never forget that I am an American fighting man, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower, August, 1955.

Nos genuflectitur ad non princeps sed Princeps Pacem!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

Rush is free. You only have to pay if you want to be in the exclusive club where you can watch him live on the Ditto Cam. There are many stations that carry him , I use one out of NY and also one from Boston. I keep extra for back up as sometimes the streaming goes bad so I just go to the other one. If you go to Rush's website you can sign up for the one where you pay, I think it called Rush 24/7.

Freep mail me to be on or off the Daily Bread ping list

The Name

April 3, 2012

What is it about a name that makes it so special to us? I began thinking about this after talking to a teenager as we stood outside her church in Black River, Jamaica, one Sunday morning. She asked, “Would you mention my name in Our Daily Bread?” I asked her if she had a story to tell, and she said, “No, just mention my name.”

As I thought about her request—and her name—I wondered why her parents named her “Joyeth.” Seeing the happy nature of her personality led me to conclude that if their rationale was to urge her along toward “joy” in her life, they had succeeded.

Most parents have that choice when a new baby is coming. But one baby received His name in a far different way. It wasn’t His parents’ choice that led to His moniker, and His wasn’t a name given to coax Him toward a personality trait. I’m speaking of the One whose name was provided by an angel who told His parents to “call His name Jesus” (Matt. 1:21). Why? “For He will save His people from their sins.”

No wonder His is the name above all names (Phil. 2:9). It’s a name that reveals His purpose—to provide salvation from the penalty of our sins. Jesus is indeed the name worth mentioning.

The name above all other names
Is Jesus Christ the Lord;
He came to save us from our sins
So we could be restored. —Sper
Jesus: His name and His mission are one and the same.

Read: Matthew 1:18-25

You shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins. —Matthew 1:21

Sorry that I missed you again, Potlatch. I’m doing fine ... just been AWOL a lot recently. This is a busy time at the Just House. Trying to finish with bookwork plus work on getting tax info to accountant.

Marissa is out of school this week. Seems there is always somthing happening. ;~)

We are going away this weekend. so I’m doing shopping, laundry and packing between appointments. Marissa has an appt this afternoon with the orthodontist.

We are going to the Jelly Belly factory and then up to visit a couple of wineries in Napa. We haven’t been to Napa for several years. I know it will be a busy, hectic place. While the men do the wine tasting, Marissa and I will check out the gift shops.

Have a wonderful week.

It was a surprise to me to learn that all names have a meaning. How many parents realize this? Often we have seen or met a person we admired and named a child their name. Or perhaps a family member name. Or our best friend when we were young.

Years ago there was a lovely Mexican movie star. My mother liked her name, so she used it. So my first name is Mexican or Spanish, the middle name is French in origin, and the last name is German.

For All The Cat~People Of Amy's Place

It Wasn't Me!

My dry food and water are scattered across the Kitchen floor
I peeked in my Pretty One's Bed Room and left ajar the door
The Bird is free to fly out of reach from room to room
Its cage has fallen and tipped over with its door open wide

Books have fallen from their tall, wide case and have landed on their sides
While The Bird sit even higher above and laughs, not even trying to hide
There's no doubt that when my Pretty One returns, she'll see things she can't abide

I could do so many things, except watch the fan spin slowly 'round and 'round
I enjoy the breeze the fat blades push down with it humming sound
After playing in Pretty One's Clothes Room, she might be upset at what I've found
It's smooth and filmy and lacy and has a wonderful perfumed scent
So, now I'll wait for my Pretty One while practicing looking cute and innocent!
