Loreen has a heck of a schnozz. Without other information, I would have guessed she’s of Lebanase-Arab descent!

If I had another son, I could name him “Abscond.” It sounds distinguished, as if it might be the name of an important government agency ...

I need to get Pink Baby and myself into some churchy clothes: we’re planning an afternoon of Spanish Pentecostal enthusiasm.

Everything except <p> needs a close for whatever you open. Sometimes the posting software does it for you.

Once you've given an html tag, you have to structure the whole post.

Back in the bad old days, unclosed formatting would carry over into next post and every following post until someone closed whatever command was left open.

I’m so glad I had DOS classes! Although I’ve forgotten a lot, I still have my hot key notes and “shorthand” if I’m in a pinch.

If my comprehension and cognition are compromised, I ask for help, IF I realize what’s going on. Some days, I don’t. Those are the days I close the computer, turn my electric mattress pad up to high, assume the fetal position and suck my thumb in the dark, while playing with a “softie” — silky piece of lingerie.

If I had a son, he’d look like Abscond.

Mine would look like Bill, Tom, Pat, James, Vlad, and Frank! And like Kathleen, since only the pink clothes provide a clue to the sex of the bald baby.

Poor Bill is off to an afternoon of lifeguarding with his massive sunburn. Kathleen and I had a fine time at the Spanish Mass. There were two baptisms and four first communions, and cake afterward. I need to find out who made the cake, because I want one just like it for Bill's Eagle Scout celebration. DP and Tom have gone to get the van's oil changed and put air in the tires.

That thread certainly is thematic! It lacks the nudity and musical extravaganza of the Miami “urban weekend” thread, though.

Maybe we can take a vote next Thursday, unless an obvious consensus favorite has emerged.

He said he wore sunscreen yesterday, but they were on the beach all the daylight hours. I saw his back, but didn’t know his legs were also burned until he told me he couldn’t wear long pants to church.

I plan to order a cake “just like that one” from the person who made it, rather than attempting to make such a thing myself. One of the ladies in our congregation is a caterer, and another family has a Central American bakery business. I heard Rosa, the caterer, telling Father Gary where the cake came from, but I didn’t catch the details. I’ll ask her next week.

I empathize with Bill. The last day of my sophomore year in High school, we went to a local amusement park called “Lagoon.” The entire day, I had no sun screen (who thought of that “back then?”) but I enjoyed myself immensely.

Until I got home. I had to take a cool soda bath to ease the burn, and slept naked for the first time in my life! Doggies! Was it worth it, almost 60 years later? NO! I still recall the pain!

Latino pastry items are really quite awesome!!

In retrospect, I should have worn a hat.

These days, I can always be spotted at a distance because I’m wearing a big straw sun hat. And speaking of hats, a lady ahead of me in the Walmart line yesterday had frogs embroidered around the brim of a nice straw hat. If I find the really cheap hats again this summer, I may try some embellishment!

Part was chocolate, and part was some other flavor, and there was a cookie layer, and a cream layer. It had white icing decorated with flowers and crosses and the names of the four children, who all belonged to a “Vergara” family which filled four rows of chairs.
