Cops: Accused Prostitute Offered Undercover Officer Sex For Cheeseburgers Off McDonald's Dollar Menu

The woman, the detective reported, replied that the pair “could go have sexual intercourse if I bought her two double cheese burgers off the dollar menu at McDonald’s.” The cop added, “I agreed to the deal and purchased the hamburgers for $2.75.”

I bet he was a wonderful man! Plants know good people. :-)
I’ll try to get some new pictures this weekend, but I need rain for the veggies.

Why don’t you buy the big pkg of enchiladas and break it up into smaller, meal-sized portions and freeze them?

I watered all the vegetables yesterday, and I’ll do it again tomorrow, if it doesn’t rain. I have some peppers nearly ready to harvest, and a Japanese eggplant that only needs a few more days of sunshine.

I wouldn’t mind being on the water again.

DP and Elen can take you out on a "Flying Scot."

Ah, Bill is back with the sour cream. He can absorb the 65 cents, or whatever it cost.

If I have to break up a pan of frozen enchiladas, I would rather go to the nearest neighbor and ask her to make some for me. She would give me what I want in the portions I need.

The upper crust of the earth in the garden is cracked, but when I pull weeds from underneath the landscaping fabric, the earth is moist so I guess I’ll put off watering for a bit. For the last few weeks, we’ve been getting enough green beans for dinner every third night (stir-fried w/bacon, sweet onion, jalapenos and other stuff—I toss in some balsamic vinegar because I *love* it), a couple of jalapenos per day, a couple of strawberries per day, 1-2 zucchini per day (fried zucchini w/ranch dressing, grilled Parmesan-garlic zucchini, and zucchini, onion and red pepper omelettes). Some of the tomatoes are much bigger than expected, but they’re only starting to change color. There are four little peppers (can’t recall if it’s the yellow or the red plant), and there are cute, teensy little watermelons (Jubilee) and cantaloupes (deep orange flesh—can’t remember name.)

I’m a complete flop at onions, garlic, and potatoes. Still, since this is the first time zucchini has survived the old black thumb, am still doing happy dance.

Whatever you have grown sounds good, but there is no way I can use my black thumb to help. I envy you!

It sounds like you got your garden in earlier than we did. We’re a couple of weeks away from a few tomatoes and a lot of peppers and eggplant. Longer for green beans, and we’re harvesting the last of the arugula for Dragon Baby.

Tom cut down some of the sunflowers with the weedeater yesterday.

Actually, the garden was begun in sort of a panic move by Mr. Sg when Backhoe Guy came to do some work for the porch construction. He graded the area and delivered topsoil, so we had to get the garden started in a mad rush. Mr. Sg did most of the tough work because I have a tendency to become short of breath and pass out when I work too hard in heat and humidity. Now, I’m chief weeder and harvester because our rows are too close together for him to run the tiller between. Am also getting eaten alive by whatever is out there—have too much broken skin to apply insect repellent, so I try to limit my exposure to one hour.

Congratulations on your eggplant! *Love* eggplant parmigiana and grilled eggplant sandwiches!

The bells by the door were jingling earlier today, and Crowbar was by me on the futon, so I walked over to the backdoor and there were two kittehs fooling around with some sort of polka-dotted lizard. I opened the door and tried to get the little guy to run out, but he just hunkered down in the doorway, so I picked him up by the tail and tossed him out onto the ramp. He stayed really still out there, but the next time Crowbar and I went out, he (she?) was gone, so I hope it’s OK.

With respect to beans, I got permanently spoiled when I visited Barranca del Cobre and had the refritos serves in a restaurant that was at a train station on Divisadero. They had apple orchards there, and I could swear that their refritos were made lighter and sweeter (if you can imagine that) by applesauce. They also served incredible apple desserts. It was a fun trip. I met a lot of Tarahumara Indians, and, as usual, when I tried to speak the language, I cracked them up. (My slaughter of Cantonese is legendary, but Tarahumara was obviously a close second. You know how bad my Spanish is? Well my dictionary and grammar book was written by a missionary in Spanish. It’s good to be a source of amusement to people, maybe.) Additionally, I was taking a correspondence course in calc at the time, so I had my TI-81 with me, and it was an easy thing for me to do the monetary conversions for the bus driver and the guide who helped the tourists by doing the exchanges for them. I got so used to pesos that, when one of the Indians gave me U.S. currency in change, I pulled my hand back as if she tried to hand me a cottonmouth. Once again, I cracked them up. No kidding—the dollar bills looked really weird.

Do you save the sunflower seeds for the birds? In the desert, we had a volunteer sunflower that grew to be approx. 10 feet high (I have witnesses.) We just left it alone, and the birds had a blast with it.

Please wish DP a very happy Father’s Day for me!

G’night!

However, let’s not forget that you are a splendiferous chef, and the descriptions of the foods you can cook make my mouth water. My old Italian-language teacher told me that the whole purpose of cooking is taking something which is already good and making it better! I only learned how to cook after I got married (poor first husband—that was probably why that marriage didn’t last.) My mother didn’t want me in the kitchen (maybe because she thought I might waste food by goofing it up, but maybe because I’d make a mess.) My job was cleaning. Otherwise, I got to make my own breakfast, and maybe peel and cut the potatoes, and boil them for dinner. My parents taught me a lot of good stuff, but cooking wasn’t among that stuff. It’s too bad, because both of my parents were good cooks. Now, Mr. Sg does the cooking and I’m the cleanup crew. Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s....

Sweet dreams, Face!
