Cat Shows Serious Hops To Open Freezer
The Post Game ^ | April 6, 2012 | Victor Chi

We are trying to figure what's more impressive about Oscar the cat in this video.

Is it his super intense game face, staring into the camera like boxers going nose to nose during the pre-fight instructions?

Or is it his insane vertical and commando-style skills in opening the freezer?

In either case, the cat's owners say they have a safety lock on the freezer to keep Oscar from helping himself to fish sticks. (That's the only part of the story we're skeptical about. We would've figured he was making the moves on the ice cream.)

Impressive. That cat looks like those in Ancient Egyptian paintings.

Oscar going into the freezer is easy, “Freezer has fish sticks and I haz fish sticks”.

Think what the cat would go through if there was lasagne in there.

I had a cat that did that. Had to prop something against the fridge door to keep him out. He also pushed stuff, like lamps, off tables if I was away too long. Great cat!

Unfortunately and sadly, the poor kitty cat appears to be very thin. These folks need to feed it much, much more.

The video would be funny if it were about a fat cat. But this is not the case.

Some cats are just thin. We have a 19 year old Blue Russian mix that we can’t get over 7 pounds no matter what. Blood, health is fine, just a very active cat (for a cat ;).

Just sayin’.

My cat is just naturally thin too. I used to feed her a full bowl 3 times a day along with snacks, which only amounted to a bit of a saggy belly and tons of poop in the litter box. I dropped her down to 2 half bowls of food a day and she still looks the same 6 months later (saggy belly slightly smaller).

She, like your cat, is also very active.

Notice how Oscar was trained to perform that trick—there were goodies he knew would be right there for gobbling up as soon as he landed in the freezer.

The smooth coat typical of a Siamese contributes to that appearance. No ribs showing and able to leap tall refrigerator doors in a single bound: healthy.

Couldn’t he have just gotten a SNAP card?
Far less work. ;)
