Washington Times ^

Posted on 04/09/2012 2:55:00 PM PDT by Perdogg

Pass the squirrel guts on PETA bread, please. The Hunger Games' mega-hottie and Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence is apparently as cool in real life as she is playing Katniss, a bowhunting super badass survivor girl in the blockbuster movie.

Great looking young lady, but what exactly is she doing with the arrow and her bow hand? Maybe Photoshopped?

Not sure about that shot, but she did receive extensive archery training for the movie, so the scenes were not shopped.

That shot has caused some controversy. I don’t know if it is a publicity still or an outtake from Hunger Games, but in the movie, she know how to use a bow and arrow.

Her character, Katniss Everdeen, is an excellent archer in Hunger Games.

double sided tape pasties and boning stays if properly tailored. But mostly by keeping your arms down.

I think he means the way she is holding the arrow, with it going across the back of her hand, instead of over her index finger is the issue. I believe that's the proper way, but I am not an archer nor do I play one on TV ;)

"I knew Miss Lawrence was both hot and tough when I saw her in _Winter’s Bone_. If you have not seen it, do."

I had put off watching "Winter's Bone" for reasons I can't remember (it listed Number one in our Netflix Suggestions que for a good many weeks) I finally did watch it because my daughter pointed out the star was the girl from the "Hunger Games". My wife wants me to go watch Hunger Games and I am not much of a Movie-Goer anymore preferring instead to watch at home with better sound and an ability to pause the show and more importantly I can tell everyone in my theater to shut up and leave if they think it necessary to talk on their cell phones during the movie. So I figured I could save myself some grief and some money if the young lady wasn't a good actor in "Winter's Bone."

I not only loved the movie, I rated it 5 stars and am looking for a used copy to add to my DVD collection. I live in an area that is plagued with the drug trade that is presented in the movie. I actually had one tenant who was dealing crystal and pills right on her front porch almost like a drive through. Had to go through the local sheriff so I could protect myself from the drug seizure laws.

People go missing in the area all the time and though no one knows anything everybody knows what happened.

Scary.... very scary!

Winter’s Bone the book is WAY better than the movie. Sad though.

I liked the movie too but, just like Hunger Games, the books are so much better!

They tape ‘em down, and no, I don’t know how one would go about getting a job as a taper.

I’ll go one better: Eva Longoria’s tan sprayer. This MAN actually exists, or so I have read.

It appears her left forefinger is draped over the arrow to keep in in a sort of “safe” mode.

The arrow’s not behind her hand. Even if it looks that way. Though it’s difficult not to be distracted. :D

Think about the fact she’s working on a movie set. That’s a real bow, and they’re probably doing re-takes, I’d presume she is just taking an extra precaution that no arrow accidentally gets away from her. Very responsible. Conservative even.

She’s also hooking her forefinger on the bowstring downward around the left of the arrow as well. Not sure what that’s about.

I think it’s just the way she learned, or how she’s decided she prefers to do things. I’d say the photo seems right.

She’s my new favorite actress, I just decided. :D
