How do you feel ?

Posted on 04/10/2012 11:57:24 PM PDT by se_ohio_young_conservative

I predicted YEARS ago that if we did not unite behind a strong conservative...Mitt would be the nominee. I supported Sarah Palin. Yet, everytime I tried to promote her as a candidate and her values I ran into strong anti Palin sentiment from a loud minority on this web-site. I didn't settle for bumper sticker comments, so in some cases I decided to FReep mail some of these people. The question was... "Why do you dislike Palin ?"... and the answer was always something like "Well my sister and my friends think shes a dork"...

Why in the hell didn't you get in their faces and correct them ? Why in the hell did you enable Mitt Romney to become the nominee ?

Yes, Palin decided not to run. But people on ourside made it impossible for conservatives like her to have any say over the direction of the party and who the nominee would be after that. You gave the MSM control over the agenda. YOU DID !

garbage in.. garbage out...

especially so called "conservative women" who seem to swat down as many female conservatives as they can. I won't even try to understand that because it is soo irrational.

Don’t feel like the Lone Ranger. I’ve been trying to figure out how we got Mitt when it was clear that nobody wanted him, nobody knows what he stands for (if anything) and nobody knows what he will do if he’s elected — but it won’t be anything Conservatives want him to do... That much is a pretty safe bet.

After my initial shock that John McCain had suggested Sarah for the Vice Presidential slot again, I actually kicked back and thought about the idea more.

And, you know what? I finally decided I liked it. A “Hail Sarah Pass?” Why not? Beats anything else we have showing right now.

Now, I was one of those most bitterly disappointed when Sarah decided not to run. Especially after her cutsie-cutsie, now-you-see-me-now-you-don’t, maybe-I-will-maybe-I-won’t bus tour. But what if this is/has been her plan all along?

Would it really have been a bad thing for her to decide not to subject herself to the bruising, grueling primary campaigns, knowing that at every opportunity not only would Liberal knives be pointed at her back, but that people who would normally be her supporters would find themselves in opposition to her due to prior commitments to other candidates in competition?

I’ll give her a pass on that. She’s endured enough media scrutiny already, and by aiming to become the eventual Vice Presidential nominee she’d be choosing a job she is confident she is ready for and would do well.

But what would a Sarah presence on the ticket actually mean?

Well for one thing, I can think of no one better than Sarah for making damn sure Mittens did not neglect Conservative values in his policies, and who would be damn willing to remind him of them if he gets too far out of line – in person, in full detail, loudly.

Can’t you just imagine an angry Sarah having a “discussion” with Romney in the Oval Office? “No, Mr. President, that position does not reflect the values we were elected to represent, and you and I will hold to those values.”

Maybe I just have a warped sense of humor, but I can’t see Mitt getting the best of Sarah in such a situation. She’d be his schoolmarm, and he’d know it. And don’t tell me he’d just ignore her in the way Vice Presidents are often shoved aside. Sarah wouldn’t stand for it.

The first time he tried to duck her on an issue, she’d march right down the hall, into the Oval Office and get right in his face. If you were a Secret Service agent would you try to stop her? Could you? You are talking about the Vice President of the United States. Plus she'd probably mention your shoe shine and tell you to wash better behind your ears.

And even if Mitt did manage to duck out a side door, do you think for one tiny moment she would not start whipping up her allies in the Tea Party wing of Congress? Calling Conservative pundits? Sarah plays hardball at that level. Any legislation Mitt wanted passed would have to have Sarah’s Good Political Housekeeping Seal of Approval — or it would go nowhere.

If we can't keep him from getting the nomination, putting a Mama-Grizzly watchbear on him might be the next best thing.

Romney DESTROYED all competition with the help of BAIN and FOX "News".

FLASHBACK:

The McCain/Palin ticket was up ++4 to 10 pts
in some polls, days prior to Election 2008.
So rather than helping the GOP, Romney and
TeamROMNEY and the RNME (Republican National Media Establishment)
decided …to attack Gov. Palin to throw Election2008.

Romney, and the Van der Sloot RNME RINOs for Obama in 2008

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers…
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide…
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."

The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
… aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.

"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off ….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

McCain was the problem here more than Palin.. Bottom line is, America has been brainwashed with so much anti-conservatism in the media and on TV that even conservatives feel wrong about supporting conservatives. Years of liberal psy-ops has taken its toll on America. The schools have churned out more socialists than we could ever possibly enlighten.

The psychology would be that most of America knows they got ripped off with Obama, so they’ll decide to do in 2012 what they made the mistake of NOT doing in 2008.. SARAH FOR VP! Should’a done it the FIRST time!

The Republican party is fractured beyond repair. The very trait that makes people conservative also makes them highly independent, therefore solidarity is a rare commodity in the ranks of the right.

Republicans gather into cells, each with its own pet agendae, and each with the short-sightedness that keeps them from uniting behind a common theme.

Every viable candidate that entered the ring this season has been vetted by conservatives with the, "Yeah, s/he's a nice person, BUT.....". Meanwhile the democrats don't get caught up in inter-party minutia, moreover, they see the value in uniting behind their party and sorting out the details AFTER they've won the election.

Conservatives want their candidate to be "mini-me's", mirroring each nuance of their particular beliefs.

"Priorities" seem lost to Republicans; they fail to see that issues like abortion and gay marriage, for instance, can sit and simmer a while on the back burner while we take care of the immediate crisis at hand...saving America from marxism.

Bring up Palin, and a chorus of small-minded boneheads chime in with, Yeah, but in January of 2009 she said..." so-and-so. These type nit-pickers are as obsessed with their pet issue as Howard Hughes was with having clean hands in his latter years.

It's easy to see why the left calls Republicans the "stupid party"; it's not based on individual intellect, but one their ability to understand one basic line..."United we Stand, Divided we FALL.".

Seems that every election season the GOP is so freakin' intenses on running against itself, it doesn't have the time to attack the real problem.

Take Romney, for instance...the GOPe is so obsessed with handing them the nomination that their wishes have almost come to fore. Romney is almost as bad as obama; he is NOT a conservative and the Republicans who do vote for him - if he wins - will hate themselves in the morning after the election.

For the GOPe, It comes down to who they can ultimately control. I think the word "rogue", pertaining to Sarah, scares the bejesus out of them. They know her record of cleaning up graff within her own party, and the GOPe has too many skeletons with their bones exposed to risk being found out.

Casually observing, anyone can see that the ones who think like the GOPe, the ones who hate conservatives like Palin, are the ones who get their nightly news on the alphabet channels, and even FOX news. They use "Tarzan" logic..."Ugh...she bad...man in talking box say so...".

People get caught up in what they perceive to be the "winners" in society; for instance, I'm a casual baseball fan, at best; however the year that the Atlanta Braves won the World Series, I went all-out for them. A year later, my interest waned and I haven't followed them since.

Fair weather fan? Well, maybe, but it's human nature to go for the winner. But that was sports, and not the well-being of the country that I love and served.

Mitt Romney is the supposed "winner", but I've never backed him and don't have any good thoughts about him. Having said that, IF he is the nominee...well, I'd rather have a RINO than a marxist, so I'll vote for him.

When it comes to elections, the left has us in a bind. They will always blindly follow the party, but while the GOP is focusing on intramural games, the main tournament is all but lost.

I would gladly vote for Sarah Palin, or any true conservative who won't become a slave for the GOPe. Romney IS the GOPe, personified.

I HATE the way this primary has turned out, we're right back in 2009 again; very little difference between Romney and McCain, but obama is as evil as ever.

My fear is, if obama wins, it will be the last election America ever has, and we become a dictatorship under the most ignorant, and evil person possible.

I pray for America's freedom from tyranny and oppression...being born, living in America for over 60 years, I never thought I would ever need to utter those words.

Sarah Palin has the misfortune of being attractive, thus this alienates her with many woman voters, who see her as a "rival" for the affections of men in their lives. From a man's point of view, this sounds totally ludicrous. However, I am made to understand by women in my life that little angers them more than to see women more attractive than themselves achieve positions of power. In their minds, very attractive women have a duty to remain in subservient roles.

In other words, beautiful women make good secretaries, receptionist or housewives. But once in a position of power, and other women will loathe and even hate them as they now feel threatened by these women and (irrationally) fear that they will steal their men away from them.

Again, I don't understand the psychology behind it but I have heard variations of the above too many times to dispel it as nonsense. I think that is the real reason Palin decided not to run and thus may never run for president.

Ironically, should the vote be take away from women, conservative women like Palin would do very well in elections. Could we live in a world where women are not allowed to vote (due to their irrational emotions) yet could still run for public office and be elected by men? It is interesting to speculate about but unlikely to ever happen.

Now we need to get behind him and push him to the right.

OBAMA OR ROMNEY: THE REPUBLIC FAILS EITHER WAY

The majority of conservatives agree with Dr. Alan Keyes. Trust me on this. They will get angry at something Romney does by August and throw him overboard, those who say they will vote for me. There should be a screaming match at the convention.

This party is divided and friction is destined to come to a head sooner rather than later.

People who consider themselves conservatives have made a lot of foolish choices this year. Some have voted for RonPaul, some for Romney, some for Santorum, some for Rick Perry.

Romney has the moderate and liberal Republicans and he has benefited from the fracturing of the conservative vote.

I agree with you.

However it’s also partly why I think (if) Romney ends up our nominee, it’s an indicator that the “Romney is unelectable” meme is wrong.

How was it you ran into the wall of anti-Palin sentiment?

I believe you ran into Mitt supporters, posing otherwise. Which shows how methodical and organized they are. There are not many of them left anymore on this site, but they’re still elsewhere. Not a few in the media.

I resent what Romney’s flunkies did to Palin, but I grudgingly admit they seem to be effective.

Let’s root for Newt to pull off a miracle and get this thing to a brokered convention.

Where on earth do some of you people get this crazy stuff? It's like your living in an alternate universe, somewhere that the rest of us are unaware of and where political realities don't exist.

Sarah Palin is not angling for VP. Sarah Palin is not going to be on the ticket. There is no "Hail Sarah Pass". She is not going to run for VP again. She wouldn't want it even if it were offered to her (which it never, ever will be because her celebrity status would overshadow any nominee). It is simply not going to happen. Let it go.

Palin will do her part to defeat Hussein. She is ABO. She will support and campaign for Willard - not because she likes him, but because getting Obama out of the White House is just that important.
