Today is Triskaidekaphobia Awareness Day. Triskaidekaphobia can strike without warning. Symptoms include paralyzing fear and irrational thoughts or behavior. While symptoms can often be ameliorated by the raised eyebrows and amused snickers of nearby people, a lasting cure for Triskaidekaphobia remains elusive.
Until there is a cure, we must not relent!
It will be covered under both Obama and Mitt care....

They say that the number 13 is an unlucky number. This is almost a worldwide belief. You will usually never see a room numbered 13, or any hotels or motels with a 13th floor.
But think about this:
13 original colonies,
13 signers of the Declaration of Independence,
13 stripes on our flag,
13 steps on the Pyramid on the $1 bill,
13 letters in the Latin above it,
13 letters in “E Pluribus Unum,”
13 stars above the Eagle,
13 bars on that shield,
13 leaves on the olive branch,
13 fruits, and if you look closely, 13 arrows.

1776: 7+6 is 13.
1789 - 1776 = 13!
If you take the Hebrew word, “one,” which is transliterated as, “echad,” (Alef-Chet-Dalet) the Gematria of the word is 13!
Don’t carry dollar bills if you have the phobia!
So this is “Fear of Richard Nixon Day”...you know Trickydickyphobia! Isn’t that how its pronounced?
True in the west, but not in the far east. 4 is the unlucky number there. The Chinese word for "4" has only a minor inflection difference from the Chinese word for "death".
There are 56 signatures on the Declaration of Independence.
Actually there are 57 signatures. Charles Thomson is not counted as one of the Signers because he wasn’t a delegate from one of the colonies, but was the secretary to Congress—he signed to “attest.”
Today is Thomas Jefferson’s birthday—April 13 was a Saturday the year he was born. Anyway Virginia was still using the Julian calendar so people in Virginia thought the date was April 2.
Think how much money would have been saved if NASA had skipped the number 13 and gone from Apollo XII to Apollo XIV.
Once one could tell how many members were signed in at F.R. When we lost that ability to see how many were here, the count stood at about 330,000.
Assume that 35,000 more have joined since then and we can also assume, statistically speaking, that today is the birth day of about 1,000 F.R. members.
I think of that whenever I see a member post a vanity to tell us that “today is my birth day”. Yippee!
And I have indeed seen such vanity posts.
Mental illness is mental instability; instability is the product of insecurity, of doubt and the fears that always accompany doubt. There is no other descriptive which can be more widely applied to liberal thought than doubt and the extension of that is this: A constant state of doubt produces a constant state of fear.
Think about it-think about the liberals you know; aren’t they always the first ones to pick up on the latest, trendy, impending calamity? Why is it that liberals dominate the ranks of global doomsayers in so many instances? Sure, you’ll get the occasional, oddball conservative who buys into the disaster of the day, but the truth is, it’s mostly liberals who have this constant fear of looming doom. If it isn’t industrialization, Malthusian overpopulation, DDT, global cooling or the Y2K rotation of the centuries, it’s anthropogenic global warming. At this very moment, as global warming is waning, it’s American debt default. The observable and undeniable point being it is always something that is scaring the britches off of liberals.
