“We need to unelect Obama. If you have not figured that out by now, you are clueless.”

An understatement if I’ve ever heard one but not satisfactory to some who’ve never read Machiavelli. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. How close a friend is dependent on how much they treat my enemy as an enemy. A friend that doesn’t believe in the Constitution is also my enemy.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

In diplomacy, war and politics friends of convenience are the norm. The US turned Stalin, a man who exceeded Hitler's body count, into Uncle Joe the ally in order to defeat Germany and Japan. During the Cold War we allied with all manner of dictators and undesirables to undermine the Soviet Union which became the great enemy. In order to keep Iran destabilized we overtly and then covertly support Saddam Hussein. The list goes on and on. Put simply, we ally with evil all the time for the greater good and I am not against having done any of that. I think the same applies very often in politics.
