'One disaster after another': Most tie extreme weather to global warming, poll finds
The New York Times on MSNBC ^ | 4/18/2012 | JUSTIN GILLIS

Posted on 04/18/2012 1:44:48 AM PDT by Carriage Hill

Scientists may hesitate to link some of the weather extremes of recent years to global warming — but the public, it seems, is already there.

A poll due for release on Wednesday shows that a large majority of Americans believe that this year’s unusually warm winter, last year’s blistering summer and some other weather disasters were probably made worse by global warming. And by a 2-to-1 margin, the public says the weather has been getting worse, rather than better, in recent years.

The survey, the most detailed to date on the public response to weather extremes, comes atop other polling showing a recent uptick in concern about climate change. Read together, the polls suggest that direct experience of erratic weather may be convincing some people that the problem is no longer just a vague and distant threat.

“Yes the AMISH are behind it with this evil invention:”

What? A picture of a fire? Who would have thought?

If the winter is hot, it’s global warming. If there’s a blizzard, it’s global warming. If there’s a flood, it’s global warming. If there’s a drought, it’s global warming. If there’s any weather at all, it’s global warming. Everything proves that there’s global warming. All who disagree are in league with the Devil/corporate interests/right wing cabal. Now that science is here, we don’t need faith anymore./sarc

Global warming is a good thing, I’ve been playing softball here in S.E. Michigan since early March and even played a few times in both January and Feb........

I’ve always believed that all polling is strictly opinion, never science. Studies are science, and opinion pollutes them to the point of being worthless. The leftists combine the two and call it “fact”.

I was in grade school in the early 50s, and I’ve noticed a very, very radical climatic weather shift from bitter-cold Dec-Mar snow-covered ground to warm winters and no snow-cover. But I attribute it to cyclical patterns, not AGW. It’s been going on for millions of years, and mankind can’t change squat.

Warm over here; cold over there. Just the way it is. We didn’t do it.

Amazingly there was one small nugget of truth on the radio yesterday where some NOAA guy told Hilary (vapid idiot announcer) Howard of WTOP in DC that global warming does NOT cause more tornadoes.

I kind of miss the widespread snow-cover in winter, in these recent decades, but there’s nothing we can do about it.

The Left has totally hijacked the Ad Council—literally billions of dollars of our money are being diverted to proselytize socialist notions as if they were based in fact.

The Ad Council is supposed to be nonpartisan and should be investigated and, if necessary, disbanded for being political hacks for the Democrats.

Was it this same group of Americans that elected Obama?

The man in the street presents interesting connections; just listen to Rev. Wright, or Hillary Clinton. They demonstrate amazing logic to connect the dots for you.

Global warming is a good thing

Can't be emphasized enough. We spend roughly twice as much on heat as on A/C in this country and a lot of the A/C is wasted in inefficient office buildings. The use of A/C is somewhat optional in Virginia where I live, but heat is not for 3 months out of the year and necessary for 2 more months just to be able to function on cold days.

It is worth mentioning that the early warmth in March followed by typical cold frosts has caused some problems for some farmers. But that warmth came from a natural pattern, global warming can only add a degree or two on top of it and the typical temperatures in April show that global warming is not a major factor.

I am sooooooo tired of this global warming/climate change BS...does any one even notice that when a 'record high' is established; the record that is broken is often from the 1920's or 1930's...

What will they blame it on as the east coast (who oversees all) enters a cool and rainy period thru early May.

There will be great earthquakes in various places (Matt. 24:7; Rev. 6:12; 16:18-20). The sea and waves will roar because of these earthquakes and cause severe panic among millions of people (Luke 21:25). There will also be cosmic signs and disasters that will strike the world from outer space. Among these will be meteor showers and asteroids that will cause devastation on earth (Rev. 6:13; 8:8-9). Furthermore, there will be unequalled heat waves and hailstorms (Rev. 16:8-9,21).

When the signs that indicate the tribulation period only begin to become evident (Luke 21:28), we must lift up our heads because our redemption draws near.

They’re focused on the *now*, and not on the *as compared to*, so they intentionally miss the important data. It’s rigged from start to finish.

The left has quietly infiltrated and now owns the govt and its agencies, lock-stock-&-barrel. A massive cleansing/flushing-out is going to be needed to rid America of those socialists/commies/Marxists/statists, but they’re so firmly entrenched, it’s scary for our Nation’s future.

The left does science by public opinion polls; and they call us uneducated.

The left tells the public lies, and when the public believes the lies, they all say, "Look, Mommy! How science-y we are!!!"
