Ferris State University, in Big Rapids, Mich., has opened a new exhibit -- the Jim Crow Museum of Racist Memorabilia. It is raising some eyebrows. The goal, says founder and curator David Pilgrim, is to also raise consciousness about persecution of African Americans, says the Associated Press. Here are facts about this provocative collection.
* According to the AP, Pilgrim, a former sociology professor at Ferris, began collecting racist artifacts in the 1970s. Much of the memorabilia came from flea markets and antique vendors.

Evidently there’s a wall outside engraved with the names of all the folks who didn’t get jobs or into college because of affirmative action, and the owners and employees of all the government contractors shut down because they couldn’t find enough “minority” physicists etc. to meet congressional mandates.
It’s 100% white racism against everyone else isn’t it?

The Coon Chicken Inn was a 3-restaurant chain. The restaurants were in Salt Lake city, Portland (Oregon), and near Seattle.

I was going on what was said about them in the movie "Ghost World" That's where I first saw the poster. The character Enid brings the poster to Art class as a "found art object"
They are horribly racist aren't they! How could anyone have ever drawn such hideous images.
BTW, supposedly the biggest collectors of "black memorabilia" are not white supremacists, it's black people.

Although their racist stereotype of blacks back then is not nearly as destructive as the racist stereotype of the gansta rapper wif his grills and hoes that is prevalent in rap videos today.
I wonder if they will show the racist cartoon of the NBP intimidating white Philly voters in 2008?
