Tigers got man handled by the Rangers in the first game of the double header today. Porcello gave up something like 8 runs in the top of the first. That game finished something like 10-4 rangers.
Verlander on the mound in this game so its going to be a better fight.

The Rangers have yet to trail a game going into the ninth inning this year....and out of 126 innings they’ve played so far, they have only trailed after 13 innings.

The park is right next to Boston University and the Back Bay. Last time I was there, last week, Roxbury was not in the neighborhood.

Nothing like being a Red Six-hating Ranger fan trapped in New England. First the Rangers humiliate the Sux 18-3; then the lose their 100th Anniversary game to the despised Yankees; now they blow a NINE-RUN lead and are now behind NY 15-9.
Sweet. (At least the Rangers were able to hang on to beat the Tigers after getting out to a 9-run lead.)

c) yankees.

Butt-smooching ESPN commentators will convince GM Cherington to stick with jacka** Valentine until it costs the GM’s job. Rays and Yanks should rejoice that it will take the Red Sox five years to recover from the Valentine debacle.

The thing that bothers me, is that in recent history, the best time in the regular season hasn’t won the WS...how many Wild Card teams, and teams that barely made it into the post-season have wound up winning it recently? The two teams the Rangers lost to (Giants and Cards), barely even made it into the post-season. And with the expanded Wild Card, it’s only going to get worse.
