..and do we have the numbers and the clout to pull it off?
“There is no such thing as a wasted vote.”
Keep telling your self that, it will make the work camps more tolerable.
No. You misunderstand. I’ve worked for more than twenty years electing others.
While constantly swimming upstream against a Republican Party that is embarrassed by conservatism and fights it constantly, either actively or passively.
>>Sorry, Im not going to toot my own horn in every post. Live with it.<<
If you’re gonna come onto these types of threads, telling us how evil Romney is, maybe you could win a few votes your way.
Open and honest, you know!
Romney called Obama a nice guy.
He is not a nice guy. But that sure set the tone in how mitt will be dealing with Obama - he won’t go negative either.
Oh, good grief........truly . ... oh never mind.
>>We do not have a constitutional republic now. The executive ignores it and has czars and agencies usurping legislative powers, the judiciary invents stuff that isnt constitutional, the legislative has pushed us 15 trillion in debt and we dont have annual budgets anymore. Plus they just passed a huge law that forces people to buy a private product or be fined and jailed, citing the commerce clause and general welfare.
Now the IRS will be able to take your guns away simply by claiming a person owes more than fifty grand in taxes. No proof or judge required.<<
I’d rather take a chance that the whole thing can be reversed when the President who made that all happen is voted out.
Mormon Mormon Mormon. I think there is one sneaking in your house right now, better get it.
I'll tell you what: I'll give your criticism a listen when you've made no secret of your real name on FR for a dozen years like I have. Surely your real name is on your homepage, right?
Have they resorted then back to the old standby
“Its cause hes a Mormon that you dont like Wee Willie...
hes really a nice lad n all...”
Shouldn't you also elect someone who will take those things away?
Our choice is either Hitler or Mussolini. That’s what we get between the two major candidates. And if you know history you know which one is Mussolini.
I vote for anyone but these two. GOP needs to be rebuilt and the rinos and country-club globalist repubs sent packing to the democrats.
Heard what? Romney is a quisling. I don’t need to research to find out what I already know. You know it, too.
See, this is why supporting a person so completely opposed to your own views gets dicey. You have to twist yourself into pretzels and pretend he’s something he isn’t.
Yeah, he’s a flip flipper ... I understand that. But if he says he’s had a change of heart on this issue, I’ll take him at his word ... unless he proves otherwise. Something he hasn’t done.
Why are you so fixated on mormons? Do you have something against the people?
No, they have just had enough of being played by supposedly their own party. At some point there is only one way to fix this.
>>I’ll give your criticism a listen when...<<
I’m just passing on some Motherly advice. Can’t hurt, can it?
I’ll ask my hubby if it’s okay to “post my real name”. He is the head of the house and has the final say. Up until now, he has said no. Want to ask him? He is Netmilsdad here.
And as my name really has nothing to do with my motherly advice, seeing as to how I’m not running for office and especially not running against Romney, it really means nothing anyway.
Is that supposed to be some kind of threat? You can’t expect the republicans to make real change unless they are forced to change and by that I mean forced out. Purge the rinos, purge the ruling elite that keep giving us sh1tbag candidates and then expecting blind obedience because “they suck but they are still better than the democrats, and where else are you gonna go, just lie back, shut up and take it, you’ll enjoy it.”
FRiend, BOLO for the Paulistians who are coming out of the woodwork now.
...chosen a side yet?
No, we don’t have the numbers.
I’m not a Romney supporter ... never have been. But at the same time, I’m very anti-Obama ... a man who has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is very much supportive of abortion and telling religions what to do. I’m sick of the lesser of two evil choices just like any other conservative here, but Obama is the worst, most evil president this country has seen. I will do whatever it takes to help get him out of the White House.
Not fixated, just having fun with a couple of MDSers.
Does that include Jeb Bush?
>>See, this is why supporting a person so completely opposed to your own views gets dicey. You have to twist yourself into pretzels and pretend hes something he isnt.<<
A poster said he has attacked Obama.
You said he didn’t.
I gave you examples.
You said you wanted more.
I said as politely as possible, do your own research.
As I said before, I’m not voting for Romney, I’m voting against Obama.
No pretzel at all.
Well, gosh. I guess you wasted both our time, then. Thanks.
The bottom line is if Mitt doesn’t get enough votes, it’s because of Mitt. If people do not vote for him, it’s because of Mitt and his record, and his flip-flopping, and what he’s done.
Simple as that.
Just so we are perfectly clear.
Your’s is the attitude that gives us Mitt.
>>Well, gosh. I guess you wasted both our time, then. Thanks<<
Oh silly, my name being posted means nothing.
I’m not running for anything, you are.
That is a very good question.
If you vote for him you’re a supporter. Don’t kid yourself.
I would love Cheney to get up on stage and say “This bullshit has gone on long enough. I gave one heart already for this country. Now I’m in the rare position to give a second heart for this country. Let’s kick Obama and his commie czars outta the White House! Vote for me!”
Having made the mistake of voting for Perot, I will not waste my vote and end up with another RAT.
I’m no fan of Romney to be sure, but third party is not an option becuase said president will have to govern. And with members of the other parties controlling the H of R, and Senate, he would be a lame duck on election day.
Yes, I am. And I’ve never made any secret of who I am, in twelve years here, unlike yourself. So, your attempt to make it seem as if I’m hiding something is ridiculous on its face.
nonsense, I have never supported mittens.
but please explain how you being in my dreams helps mitt?
Hope you like a Castro style govt.
‘Don’t Screw the Pooch, Just Eat It’ by bigoil:
Load the dog atop the car!
Planet Kolob ain’t too far.
Poor little pooch on top the roof,
That’s why Mormons are so aloof!
Which presidential election did you like the offerings of?
Can you name 2 ?
I predict we shall be as fond of the GOP offerings in 2016, 2020,2024,2028, 2032 as we are with 2012s.
>>I would love Cheney to get up on stage and say This bullshit has gone on long enough. I gave one heart already for this country. Now Im in the rare position to give a second heart for this country. Lets kick Obama and his commie czars outta the White House! Vote for me!<<
OMGosh I would do such a happy dance! It would be a great night and lib heads would explode everywhere!
Breitbart is dead and not voting this election, btw.
The only way to fix it is to replace the people in the GOP. A third party will never be a feasible solution.
When i read the post that started this thread, i took it to mean this:
“Do we have the clout to do something about thiss at the Convention?”
I am still praying for some sort of Tea Party rebellion in Tampa.
Don’t think it will happen.....but I’m still praying.
What do you think?
I think the large majority of the people who call themselves republicans would be pumped to have a winning candidate to actually vote FOR, for a change.
Like I said, you’re more than welcome to talk to my hubby.
As for putting your name on FR, so? Lots of FReepers who run for office do. You’re not any different than others who run.
But as a mom, morals and integrity run high in my book. So the motherly advice stands.
Open and honest!
Yes that is how our system works. The Tea Party and every other party has lost in their efforts to obtain a conservative candidate.
If you’re running for office you should know that. BTW, “running” for office doesn’t mean squat. Anyone who isn’t a felon can run for office.
Winning doesn’t mean much either since most of Congress are criminal corrupt bastards.
Except you didn't. You spouted irrelevant gibberish and then essentially repeated your original point. Though at first you said all these conservatives were suppressing reason, now apparently they are just suspending it:
In the purest sense, any conservative who votes for Romney has suspended reason.
You are aggressively advocating something that all these people I mentioned completely oppose. What is it that you believe qualifies you to know better than Palin, Cheney, Rush, Levin, Hannity, Perry, Newt, etc, etc, etc, about how to cast our presidential ballots? You think all those intelligent conservative leaders have "suspended reason". Has it occurred to you that maybe you are just wrong? That, at minimum, most conservative leaders simply disagree with you - and that perhaps this attitude you have towards everyone who plans to vote for Willard as a means of getting rid of Hussein is misplaced.
The people you mentioned stated at the outset they would support whom ever the Republican nominee would be, that is for them to decide.
Who cares that they stated they were ABO from the outset. They said that because they believe that. What's that got to do with anything? They ALL still completely and utterly disagree with you. Stop acting all high and mighty and maybe consider you might not have all the answers. Of course everyone will make their own decision, but suggesting constitutional scholars like Mark Levin have "suspended reason" is just silly. Romney sucks, but most conservatives are going to vote for him because it is the only means of ejecting Hussein. I certainly understand that some people here feel differently, but the idea that all these conservative leaders are suppressing or suspending reason is ridiculous.
Reluctantly agree. But a vote for Mitt is a vote not to fix the party.
>>Breitbart is dead and not voting this election, btw.<<
I know, that makes me really sad.
*sigh* I’ll keep the tagline for a year, in memory of a great conservative.
I agree. Although M. Romney is too liberal, he is better than B. Obama. Eric Holder is reason enough for me to vote for Romney this time. As somebody posted, if Obama wins, he will really go wild during his second term.
As a great reporter I miss what he brought to the table.
>>I think the large majority of the people who call themselves republicans would be pumped to have a winning candidate to actually vote FOR, for a change.<<
You are so right!!! I just keep praying that there is something in the wings to help us. Newt, Sarah, Rush and Cheney, riding to the rescue!
I can dream!
