Mary Lou, I’m listening to Rush and he had me rolling in the floor laughing, talking about the dinosaurs passing gas (not the word he used) has caused this global warming, re: the article we read!

He is soooo funny! He just went to commercial but he’ll be back in a minute! I try to listen everyday as he perks me up when I’m in the doldrums over the O!!!!

Well, even if she HAD interpreted my statement as, “snippy” (Which it wasn’t!) and i profoundly apologized because it was perceived that way, it didn’t matter to her. She was on a roll.

Even though I was innocent of her accusations, I apologized because something I said unintentionally hurt her. But she would not accept my apology.

What else can a person do?

Just remember “you’re a better woman than she is.” You gave an apology which shouldn’t have been BUT she wasn’t woman enough to even accept the apology. I always say “WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND!”

He does put the spirit in me! He just now said that now “we are now going to increase global warming for emitting too much gas.” Are we going to have inspectors checking us for that now? HE IS HILARIOUS! He used other words, too!

I gotta run out now, see you all later!

Afternoon, ML!

Hope you're feeling better today. Some people just have to make themselves feel superior to others. They must be ignored! (Or ridiculed by your friends..*snicker*)

Art by Fish Hawk. Graphic by Mama Bear.

Reminds me of the Maxfield Parrish school of androgynous youth, displaying the frivolity and innocence to which we should aspire.

Free Expression

Oh, let my fingers fly, that so might I,
To feel the soft caresses of the sky,
To rush, and waft, and ride the breeze,
To soar, and bank, control with ease ...

And let my music sing to you,
The song my heart knows to be true,
I cannot hide my soul, or anything,
When freshly from my bath I spring,

To play the melody my heart may dance,
And who would wish to see a heart in pants?
That's for the lungs, you know, those
Bladders flapping out their odors so.

But let me play, and let me sing,
And let my joy to others bring,
A smile, a tear, a welcome sigh,
Remembering the dreams that let them fly.

Thanks, folks.

John MaGee, Wilfred Owen, Sandburg and Frost, and others have had a profound effect on me, but I try to stay away from being deliberately derivative.

Sometimes, though, when I’m thinking about things like flying, I can feel MaGee back in there, in my mind, just exulting in his almost inexpressible joy.

Or I tune into Frost’s wry amusement, and studied observations.

Like them, I do this as much for my own enjoyment as for any other purpose. Glad you’re with me on that!

Building A Life That Matters

May 9, 2012

My grandkids love to play with Legos. These small colorful building blocks capture their imagination for building forts, planes, houses, or whatever the instructions may call for.

Emptying the contents of the box onto the floor, my grandchildren begin to put the pieces together. But soon they think they don’t need to consult the directions. This eventually leads to a point when they realize that building according to their own instincts has resulted in a bad outcome. So, they break it apart and start over again—but this time they have a keen sense of how important the directions are.

Do you need the pieces of your life broken apart and put back together according to God’s directions? If you have Jesus Christ as your foundation, begin to follow His blueprint for living. Paul wrote, “Let each one take heed how he builds” on the foundation (1 Cor. 3:10-11). What is the blueprint? Value others above yourself by humbly serving them (Phil. 2:3-4), give generously of your resources to those in need (James 2:14-17), respond with love to those who have wronged you (Rom. 12:14-21). These are just a few of the pieces that God wants you to put together to build a life that is worthy of being His temple (1 Cor. 3:16).

Because of the grace and forgiveness that You have
shown me, Lord, I want to live a life that’s worthy of
knowing You. Help me to follow Your plans that
You’ve laid out in the Scriptures. Amen.
The Bible is the Christian’s blueprint for life.

Read: 1 Corinthians 3:9-17

I have laid the foundation . . . . But let each one take heed how he builds on it. —1 Corinthians 3:10
Bible in a Year:
Nehemiah 7-9

Sorting Things Out

Everything has been so strange. I think my family changed.
The little place I used to live seems somehow re-arranged.

I think that I agree with you, whoever you may be,
It looks like how we sort this out depends on you and me.

Well, I could use a brother, cause I miss my folks a lot,
And I'd like a friend beside me when I'm sleeping on the cot.

I'm rather independent, but I'll go along with that,
By the way, just so you'll know. You're a dog, and I'm a cat.

... for a few years now I have participated in a Bible study, "Precept" study, by Kaye Arthur ... excellent.

It is amazing really. Wish I could retain all that I learn. She has recently retired, but the studies are available. It took 2 years to study Hebrews, 2 years to study Daniel, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 2 years, Revelations, 2 years, Judges was one year, Romans 2 years, James, Jude is one page and tool 5 full weeks. if I remember correctly, just finished Joshua, I missed one or two.

Wonderful. I recommend them to all that want to know and understand God's word. I could take them all again and learn as much as I did the first time. It is line upon line and precept upon precept.

As for me I can not absorb it all in one study, even a very in depth two years at a time study. As Paul says ... 'What so ever thing are true, good ...'

Philippians 4:8
King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
***********************************************************

reminds me of my Mothers adage ... "if you can not say something nice or good about a person place or thing, do not say anything." She actually lived this. I was grown before I realized it, about her.

In this bombastic world this is more difficult all the time.

I started making the windchimes about five years ago when I found a website with plans and charts for the length of each tube for a specific musical note. Sold a bunch to mrsdd’s co-workers and made some for friends and family.

Most of those sold were painted solid colors and the stars and stripes chimes were mostly given away. Two years ago I made 14 stars and stripes sets for Gold Star families who attended the So San Joaquin Republican dinner/meeting.

Also sent a set to our nephew when he was serving in Afghanistan. He hung it outside the command post while he was there. It took a real beating from the strong winds that blew. He return it to me when he came home. Paint is all chipped but I hung it near our front door as a reminder to remember our troops.

I haven’t made very many lately but decided to make a set for my dr for two reasons. 1. He is an Air Force Veteran and 2. He saved my life.

My mother said the same thing, “If you can’t say something
nice about a person, do not say anything.” Thats a good
thing to teach our kids today. I sorta have done the same
things for my kids when they were growing up, as my mother did for me!

Do you go to your Bible class weekly?? Sounds like a great
thing to do! Most of us “just don’t have the time”...know
what I mean? It really is we do not work it into our lives
as we should all do. I admire your faithfulness very much!
