Video at the link. The area in central Prescott is a big tourist draw with shops, bars and restaurants lining the street. It was featured in the 70's movie "Junior Bonner" starting Steve McQueen and directed by Sam Peckinpah.

The buildings that were destroyed were built following the fire in 1900 that destroyed the whole block. This time response by several fire companies and 60 firefighters kept the entire block from going up in flames.

Oh No!...loved going there for the July 4th Rodeo. I remember the Bird Cage, which is amazing because I don’t remember much else.....never made it to the rodeo.

Barry Goldwater began his political career in 1952 with a rally at the Yavapai County Courthouse across the street. He started all of his campaigns, including the one for president, at the courthouse and finished them at Fredonia, a small town on the Utah border.

Wow, I’m sorry to hear this. It has been years since I’ve been in Prescott, but I have many fond memories of staying at the Hasayampa and walking down to Whiskey Row. I love the place.
