Two reasons why Obama screwed up on Gay Marriage (vanity)
Self | 5/10/2012 | Sefl

1. I was listening to the Hugh Hewitt show a few hours ago and a guy called in, a medical employee at a hospital. He said that he happened to be checking out two Black patients in different rooms who had no connection to each other. Both of them had family members visiting them. In both situations, the subject of Obama approving gay marriage came up and in both cases, the family members were irate and said they were going to "stay home" on election day. Sure, it's anecdotal but it could be significant. Blacks have a higher rate of opposition to gay marriage than any other ethnic group.

2. A recent poll in the state of Ohio showed that a whopping 62 percent of voters OPPOSED gay marriage. In a closely fought state swing state like Ohio, which Obama badly needs, this could make quite a difference in the outcome.

I think Obama made, politically, a huge mistake.

How many gay marriage laws have been passed by voters?

Zero.

Obama blew this one big time.

From the point of view of his campaign calendar, the homosexual marriage move creates progressive buzz from now to Memorial Day. Then from June 1 to June 30, he needs buzz from another non-economic issue — say education. Then after June 30, the Supreme Court decision will resurrect the Obamacare issue. That will reboot Obama’s 2008 campaign and give Romney a big headache.

It pays to look at the entire game plan, not just individual set pieces.

Has it occurred to anyone that he was so brazen about it because they plan on stealing the election anyway?

The gay marriage meme is a distraction from the pathetic economy. Poor “Tom” can’t afford to marry “Bob”!

This will not play well at the Church of What's Happening Now.

Of course the ‘Biden gaffe’ was planned. He HAD to come out for gay marriage, even tho he really didn’t want to, because Biden MADE him do it (always looks for someone else to blame). Now he wants to lie low and not make it an issue. He gets to be ‘pro gay marriage’ to those who know he meant it, and ‘against gay marriage’ to those who consider him a victim of Biden’s (proven) incompetence and that, perhaps, he didn’t really mean it but was forced to say it.

The problem is that there is little separation between Romney's and Obama’s policy on gay marriage

Crap. obummer is for fag fornication and calling it "gay marriage" and mittens is against it.

If you can't see any difference on this issue, your romney hatred is blinding you.

Clearly Obama thinks that blacks will back him no matter what.

In fact, one of the biggest lines of bullsh*t lately has been that he’s been avoiding coming “out of the closet” on this because he’s feared the effect on Independents.

Think what one likes about gay “marriage” or the mushy middle, those are not the people whose reaction Obama feared. It was black religious voters, and to a lesser extent Hispanics.

Well, he’s done a calculation, eyes on the financial line it seems, and he’s said “they’ll stick with me anyway”.

Black Americans, that’s what Obama thinks. He thinks he can do nothing to improve your lot, put a stick in your eye to please white hollywood and other rich, liberal, white people, and you’ll still show up to vote for him in droves.

Oh, yeah, and hey, black people, Barack Obama is only 1/2 black....and.....he ate a dog!

Blacks have a higher rate of opposition to gay marriage than any other ethnic group...details are a bit hazy by now, but I watched C-Span coverage a month or so ago of a seminar of black conservatives in Washington sponsored by Rep. Allen West - one of the invited participants was the chairman of the Black Congressional Caucus who was surprisingly - to me anyway - gracious and open in most of his comments - if I recall correctly the conversation turned to where blacks on both the left and right might reach compromise, and this black congressman said flatly that this would never happen with gay marriage, that black churchmen in particular were so opposed to this that they would never fully endorse or accept it in their churches - there may be a lot of Obama's most dedicated voters who just won't turn out this November because of this move - or as Rush's parody said today "Stand with me in support of President Obama - trade poor black votes for rich gay money"......

WRONG. Obama won...because we’re not talking about the economy.

Get a grip. It's May.
IMO, it's actually better to not get people burned out with "economy" talk. There will be plenty of that in a few months.
And anyway, people are experiencing and despairing the crappy Ubama economy on their own, without having to be told, unlike when the economy is thriving under a Republican president and the Democrats and their newsrooms relentlessly harp about how bad the economy is until some people actually believe the economy must indeed be bad - - for other people they don't know.

“Crap. obummer is for fag fornication and calling it “gay marriage” and mittens is against it.”

Romney was governor of a state that passed gay marriage.

Romney, just yesterday, stated that he was in favor of gay’s adopting children.

How can gays adopt children if they are not in some sort of legally recognized relationship?

Now, please tell me the difference between Obama’s and Romney’s stance on gay marriage.

He said they probably won’t vote for Romney, but they won’t turn out for Obama in nearly the numbers they did in 2008.

That works for me.
