I would too, he's a real Richard!
That being said, I enjoy Eureka, it's just fun stuff..........I hope it continues.
Fringe on the other hand is really jumping the shark now with Bell and that third alternative universe.......I'm losing interest really fast.
"Touch" with Kiefer Sutherland, is really good too, I just wish he would stop talking like he just finished running a marathon and talk like a normal person.......

Touch has been renewed for a 2nd season. [I have gotten aggravated at Jack Bauer running around asking, whining, ‘what do you want me to do, Jake?’ ‘Is this what I’m supposed to be doing, Jake?’ ‘Help me, Jake’.
Awake takes the dirt nap.
Supernatural goes for an 8th season [it just barely survived, was nearly cancelled after season 1; now, it is one of the few CW ‘success’ stories].
Once Upon a Time and Grimm have both been renewed for a 2nd season. [They are fun to watch. OUAT took some getting used to as it switched from past to present to past. Grimm is an interesting take on the family Grimm and encounters with strange creatures.]
Syfy Saturday has a made-for-TV movie, American Warships. Syfy has a history of making bad movies with names and themes very similar to theater releases.
MTV’s Teen Wolf is scheduled for a season 2 later this summer.

Folks this may be off subject but it’s one of those things that stick in the mind.
Does anyone remember a book, or a series, about warriors that came from a planet where they had to carry a gun with them at all times because everything on the planet would attack a human?
Made them great warriors for hire. I can’t remember who wrote it or what its called.

Well don't forget, he's a graduate of the Star Fleet Academy and his mom was the Chief Medical Officer on the USS Enterprise-D and it's successor ship the USS Enterprise-E.
It helps to have parents in high places.........

I don’t think it’s the one you’re thinking of but...
The Dorsai stories by Gordon R Dickson is a great sci/fi series in that vein.

Harry Harrison’s trilogy: Death World; Death World II/The Ethical Engineer; Death World III/The Horse Barbarians. Planet was named Pyrrus, and *everything* on it had human on its menu.
Read them originally as they came out as 3-part serials in Astounding/Analog.

I’m watching Dances with smurfs on FX now. Its really too bad they went with the anti military anti corporate angle. It could have been a great movie if they had made them allies fighting a common enemy.

Visually stunning but otherwise crap. Ideal for muting and turning on some music. Maybe giving it the MST3K treatment.

Fox renews ‘Touch,’ cancels ‘The Finder,’ ‘Alcatraz’
...the network renewed its Kiefer Sutherland-led drama “Touch” and canned “Alcatraz” and “Bones” spinoff “The Finder.”
Touch Sucks...unless you are a numerologist, I suppose...and unless 4 digit numbers written by autistic boys connecting 3-4 world shaking events each week is your cup of tea....
Alcatraz (not my favorite but ok) needed some closure...5-6 more episodes to explain what the heck was actually going on.....

Help me, Jake. Awake takes the dirt nap. I just saw over at AICN that Touch will be the lead in to Fringe next year (for Fringe's abbreviated last season). I was sorry to see that Awake is going away. Hubby and I have been really enjoying that show.
To: mrsmith
Thank you all VERY much. They both sound right so I will just read them all to find out.
Blessings!

It was a series of books where the protagonist went to a planet where pretty much every thing could kill you. Like Australia on steroids! I really loved them, many years ago. And his "Stainless Steel Rat" series too. I think that HH was WAY underrated as a writer, and thought the Stainless Steel Rat books would have made really great movies.

(Do I really look like a guy with a plan?)
In a Sci-Fi tie-in, the ABC series Castle (Nathan Fillion from Firefly) has a new bad guy for the next season... Tamoh Pennicut (sp? - Helo on Battlestar Galactica and Paul Ballard from Dollhouse) is the new bad-guy.
I found myself shouting at the TV, "No!!! Not Helo!!!!! He can't be the badguy!!!!

From Coast To Coast AM:
Space Command
In the first hour, writer Marc Zicree talked about his new project, a series of sci-fi films entitled Space Command. He was joined by Oscar and Emmy Award winner Doug Drexler as well as director Neil Johnson, who are working with him on the project. He detailed how the inspiration for Space Command comes from the science fiction films of the 1950’s, with the goal of bringing back “the kind of hopeful vision of the future we had back then.” Drexler marveled at the early success of Space Command’s fundraising campaign and declared that “if the studios don’t want to make it, we’re going to make it, no matter what.” As to the project’s timetable, they hope to film the first movie in September and then spend the following year working on the elaborate post-production CGI effects. To that end, Zicree promised that “it will be as polished as a jewel by the time we’re done.”
