I still remember seeing big lib Michael Douglas on a late-night talk show discussing his excitement over the birth of his child (this was before he married Zeta-Jones). He talked about how he would "talk to the baby" in the mother's tummy, so that when the baby was born, he "seemed to recognize my voice!".
That's the way libs are. If it's a baby they want, they see the fetus as a child and "talk to it". If it's not a child they want, it's a blob of tissue.
