Democrats balk on Walker recall election
The Washington Times ^ | May 16th | Henry D'Andrea

After months of a media frenzy surrounding Republican Gov. Scott Walker and the changes made to the collective bargaining process in Wisconsin, Democrats have balked on the upcoming June 5 recall election.

The effort to recall Walker began last November, when United Wisconsin in coalition with the Democratic party began collecting signatures to initiate a recall election in Summer 2012.

Within 60 days of launching its signature drive, United Wisconsin had already collected well over one million pledges to recall Walker. At the end of March, an official recall election was confirmed, and Democratic and Republican primaries were set to take place in May.

Ed Schultz and National Reviews’ John Nichols seen retching in the hallways as they have both been well paid by their union “brothers” for their “work” on this kick walker out project.

I think the unionists dissipated a lot of natural sympathy in left wing Wisconsin by the length and unruliness of their protest. Like the Occupy crowd, they did not know when stop after making their point.

Ed Schultz and National Reviews’ John Nichols...

National Review? Don't you mean The Nation?

One of the comments beneath the article linked the words “dems” and demons” - sadly I never thought of that before. Clever.

“The Democratic National Committee isn't investing in the massive get out the vote effort in Wisconsin"

Translation: "The Democratic National Committee isn't putting out any Street Money and hasn't contracted for any out-of-state busing to get out the vote effort in Wisconsin."

Unless a guy is grossly incompetent (Gray Davis), or a very bad criminal, recall elections are a waste of time and money. He’ll be on the ballot again soon enough. Keep your powder dry. There’s only so much people can care about the shenanigans of their elected leaders; they’re trying to feed their kids.

I would say this...if they lose...even by 51 percent to 49 percent...then it has a fair drag on the President in November. I would suspect that the numbers are awful close and no one on the Democratic side is happy. Also, you can figure that several hundred people have put themselves into a potential court problem if they vote twice or do any funny voting business. Just dual-voting in two counties....would invite at least $5k in lawyer costs, and figure some type of fine/jail-time if convicted. I imagine that some folks are worried this time around that their name will surface on various databases.

I’m sure the unions saw the forced unionization ban repeal succeed in Ohio and figured they could get another scalp.

Just wait until the hemorrhaging in Illinoise begins by the end of this year. Wisconsin will be just as inviting as Tennessee. Nobama has no place to go.

If you go to lib sites like DU (yes, I know) you will see that DU believes every word the MSM says on how popular liberal ideas are.

The press probably has many people believing, for instance, that most people are pro gay marriage, accounting for the hysterics when they lose every referendum. They can’t figure out the gap between truth and their fantasies.

I’m sure all these libs absolutely believe most people are libs, not conservatives, and they will be flabbergasted if they lose the recall. The problem is, they believe their own lies and the lies the MSM feeds them.

I may be wrong but I think that the main Union concern is the fact that they can no longer automatically deduct union dues from wages. To me this is slow death for Unions everywhere.

I saw where even the dim polls show Walker winning. I love that the dnc threw the recall movement under the bus.

Don and Roma had Rep. Peter Roskam (R-IL) on their show this morning discussing the WI recall election. He basically said however this election goes, so goes WI in the general election. Me thinks President O-Bysmal is in trouble.

The Dems have been running to death an ad claiming Wisconsin lost net jobs in 2011. New stats that just came out show the state gained about 20 thousand jobs in 2011. Barrett can choke on those numbers. Now they’re trying to link Walker to a scandal that occurred while he was Milaukee County Administrator. Some of his aides used office phones to send political messages. Now it turns out they’ve caught a Dem aide under Barrett doing the same thing Walker’s aides did. Using office phones for political messages. And here’s the sweet part. The aide is Barrett’s wife.

You are spot on, as to the core issue here for the union thugs. Coerced dues payment is their lifeblood. Nothing else matters as much.
