Yeah, McCain was the absolute last straw for me. I had kind of hoped that they would have learned their lesson from that, but no, they had to double down on ‘Sucks just slightly less than the Democrat.’ as a strategy.
We'll deal with that when the time comes. Yes, we may not have a satisfying answer to that very valid question. Right now, however, the issue is ensuring that we don't instead end up with a President he11-bent on eviscerating the Constitution, stacking the Supreme Court with Communists, ... and otherwise making it impossible or pointless to send as many real conservatives to House & Senate as possible. I'd rather a President who merely doesn't like us, than a President who sees us as the opposition in a literal & hot class/race war.

The GOP is the party of the Rombots. With few hiccups it has ALWAYS been a party of Rombot-like creatures. There were a few wonderful exceptions, like Goldwater and Reagan, but aside from that, if you look carefully, most of the Presidential Republican candidates were an awful lot like Romney.
Tell us how you tantrum troops believe there will be an America where some new conservative order will have an opportunity to establish itself as the alternative to the pubbie brand, if little barry bastard commie is allowed four more years to carry out his abortion of the Republic.

On the bright side, the most likely ones that will be replaced are already lefties, so short of some devastatingly bad luck, that ought to be a 'break even'.
And don't forget, that even 0bama can't make a Supreme Court Justice without the Senate, so THERE is where we need a preponderance of Conservatives.
And if we get a preponderance of real conservatives, with some gonads, in the House, they can tie up the purse strings so that 0bama cant actually get much done.
Don't put your hopes and efforts into a weak vessel like Romney. Get good people into Congress

Other than not voting (stupid) or voting for the current traitor (beyond insane in this universe) the only choice IMO is to hold your nose and vote for this crap sandwich the GOP is serving us but at the same time work for and vote for as many Tea Party candidates as we can.
IMO that is the only hope to pull, push, nudge, prod Mitt to the right.
With congress’s low approval a mini Tea Party coup is possible and whom ever occupies the White Hut will have to deal with a congress that does not hate the USA like Odumbo.
I don't think a RINO would be a fair description. His conservative bonafides were fairly clear after his epic speech at the 1964 convention.
But they were able to nudge him leftward on a number of fronts during his stint as governor of California and thought they could do the same as president.
Remember, the RINO wing backed George Bush I in 1980. The conservatives backing Reagan were just too well organized and united from 1976 for the RINO wing to overcome.
In hindsight, we were naive to think things would be different this year when we couldn't even agree on a candidate.

Go back through my history here at FR, or under the same name at other conservative websites (or Hermit_Crab at Lucianne) and find ONE nice thing that I ever said about 0bama or any Democrat (Other than perhaps Zell Miller; I may have said something nice about him back in the old days)...

In the lead analogy, correctly interpreted, Agent Smith is the Obama: out to undermine & wreck the system completely. Much as Zion (the Tea Party) despises the Machines (RINOs) and vice versa, a truce must be called between them for time to fight off a common enemy; the symbiosis between the Resistance and the Machines may be painful, but complete takeover by Agent Smith is far worse. Understandably, some in Zion can't get past the physical reality of the Machines to address the greater existential threat of Smith ... nonetheless, the truce must be arranged lest none survive.
Consider what happened with George W. Bush when he nominated Harriett Myers. Or tried to push amnesty for illegal aliens on us.
If BO wants something bad enough, he will simply ignore congress with executive orders or ignore the courts and do it anyway.
No RINO who has ever occupied the presidential office has behaved in such a dictatorial manner. Not even Nixon. There is no reason to believe Romney would either.
Much as you dislike the O, your strategy empowers him.
