Their best work was prior to Saturday Night Fever.
They wrote for many other artists as well.

Unfortunately, one you forgot was Richard Wright of Pink Floyd, gone due to cancer. I thought it was so cool that even after all the bad blood in Pink Floyd that he and David Gilmour got back together and made some really great music together.

It saddens me that through they’re still alive, I’ll never see many of my favorites again, simply because they’re no longer able to put up with the rigors of touring. I’ll never be able to see King Crimson with Bill Bruford, or see the “classic” lineup of Yes again. In fact, the last concert I went to was Yes, but Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman weren’t on tour. They had the lead vocalist from the Yes tribute band in Canada, and Oliver Wakeman on Keyboards, but it really wasn’t the same.

Many people don’t realize the Bee Gees had three different career turns in the music world. Early on, they had a more blues, soul sound, then disco, and then post disco.

Their career was almost over till the disco phase started. They started in the 60’s.

You reminded me, with the loss of Levon Helm and your mention of Rick Danko, and of course the tragic suicide of Richard Manuel, more than 1/2 of The Band is gone.

Just Damn.

If you’ve found some new artists you think are worth a listen feel free to drop a few in the thread. I’m always looking to add to my collection and like discovering new artists. I enjoy all genres except cRap and Metal. And can live without Opera.

If only she were. Oooh, nasty of me. That woman is simply hideous with all her yelling. No, she isn’t soulful, no she doesn’t scream, (as opposed to Wilson Pickett, who supposedly could scream ON KEY) she just YELLS as loud as she can. Just like Ronnie Milsap. To this day I don’t know why they never recorded a duet (they were even on the same label for a long time) It might have been too difficult to navigate as they tried to yell each other into oblivion. If only they had.

I have the "Live at Gdansk" DVD. and when Richard played those first few pings to "Echoes" it sent shivers down my spine.
