Something is jacking emails
It will come from someone you know and who has you on their “contacts”.
Open it and you will unwittingly send it to everyoneon YOUR contacts.
Thanks for the heads up. Is this a FReepmail thing, or do you mean regular ol’ email accounts?
I rarely use email and even then don’t open 90% of it.

Is “Yo!” safe?
That nasty little roll mail came to me and I used ‘view source’ before opening it. The virus code was plain as day so I didn’t open it. I have since received three more of the same virus, from folks I have corresponded with in the past. I consider this just another of the ‘chain mail’ games coders and hackers play to see how quickly their grabage gets back around to them from all over the world. I wish I knew how to reverse their crap and infect their hard drives with a ‘kill the hard drive’ virus, I’d be tempted to use it!
It opens a link to a seemingly innoucous article about “earn money on the internet working from home”.

sheesh, I use “hey” as a subject line as do my friends. How can you tell if it’s bogus or not?

I’ve received email from myself that I didn’t send. Just delete that stuff.

I use Yahoo for my Email and have not had any problems.
While I get up to 20 spam mails per day, they are automatically put into the spam folder by Yahoo.
I can periodically check it for any real Emails, before dumping the contents.
It is very rare for me to see a spam mail in my normal inbox.
I would never use the ISP for email, as you are in deep doodoo if you move and/or change your ISP.
I check my email every week whether I’m expecting any email or not. I only read the stuff from people whose address I recognize and delete the rest, but nobody I know would put “Hey” as the subject line. So I think I’ll be alright.
Anyway, thanks for the heads up. If anybody I know does send me an email with “Hey” as the subject line, I’ll delete it.
Being a rancher I get legitimate daily e-mails with the subject line “Hay”!

Yep, I got nailed from a friend. Ended up spamming a bunch more people. Thorough virus scan found it. Mine was “Hello”. Wondered WTH my friend had sent me the thing for, some sort of make money online scam.
I used to get at least a dozen of those “You are a lottery winner” emails every week. I found a way to stop them.
Iwould forward the one from Liberia to the email address of the one from Nigeria and the one from France to the one from The Congo, etc.
I think it set up an endless loop that would bury their servers.
All I know is that it worked for me.

The rule of thumb is: Hey,Ey,Aye, Oy, and sometimes Yo.

Seriously, though (no, really.) Opening an e-mail in a web browser oughta be always safe, as far as I know (such as Yahoo, Gmail, or Hotmail.) So you must be talking about e-mail attachments, no, or e-mail programs running on the machine that download the e-mails to the local box before opening them?
I got it from someone who I had no correspondence from in 7 or 8 years! They weren’t in my contacts but, obviously, I was STILL in their’s.
