A few years ago, I read this and we tried it. It's the only way we freeze our peaches now. Just thought I'd end the week on a hopefully helpful note!
Hope you all have a "peachy" weekend..lol.
It frosted here two nights ago. I’m thinking about canning some sunshine.
Thanks! This looks great.

I’m still waiting on the Peach Brandy recipe.
BRRRR!
Thanks for this tip! I both can and freeze peaches. This “recipe” helps eliminate the frozen peaches from getting dark. I have my jars, pectin, sugar etc... out now. My youngest and I picked a huge amount of strawberries and she will “help” make her first batch of strawberry jam this evening. She is more excited today about this project than you could imagine!!
Isn’t it great when the family gets involved? Teaching kids to grow and/or preserve their own food is a gift that will keep on giving throughout their lives.
We were simply amazed that the orange juice kept the peaches just as yellow and nice as when we first cut them. Love it when the peach pie and peach cobbler get made!
Enjoy your weekend strawberry event with your daughter! Memories..plain and simple!
You are so right... when you teach your kids how to do this.. they will remember it forever. My Mom made jams and canned peaches/pickled beets etc. She taught me and I am teaching the next generation. In fact, I have Mom’s canner and some of her canning materials. I do have the feeling though that one batch won’t be enough (we’ll probably do at least two).
One of the main problems I had with freezing peaches (even when I used Fruit Fresh) was the peaches turned an ugly brownish orange. I plan on using this for my Winter peach pies (and I make plenty). Hugs to you, stillafreemind!! Mom
Make sure that the peaches are totally covered by the juice before you set them in the freezer, and you’re good to go!
I’m sure glad if I could help ya out.

Peaches frozen in orange juice?
Throw that in the blender, add some rum & key lime juice, and yum!
