Mayo doesn't have as much taste, IMO.

Some of the comments are funny. I was a little surprised that the poll tips heavily to mayo. I'm glad a couple were in my camp and I felt like I'd entered some alternate universe. I would eat mayo on a BLT but I just prefer MW. With LOTS of MW lol. Sometimes I put it on both pieces of the toast! No, mayo is just plain bland but not unpleasant. It's better for certain other things I make and for most of my versions of potato salad, I use half MW and half mayo. And usually a big dollop of yellow mustard. I make it about 3 or 4 different ways now. And people always are crazy about it. Well, no, it's my 3 mustard one that is the most popular now.

Now get yourselves some Boetje's German mustard and learn to like it. I love that stuff since I was a kid. Black rye, Swiss cheese, Boetje's, on brats, on burgers when I'm in the mood, In one version of potato salad. There's another brand that's almost as good, think it's Roenfelt's or something like that. Maybe that's horseradish. I use that to make my own Shrimp sauce, Heinz chili sauce (no other brand will do), ketchup in a pinch, fresh horseradish (keeps pretty long in the fridge) and some lemon juice.

This is ridiculous...Miracle Whip isn’t mayonnaise, so why would you compare it?

This is like saying; “If you were going to make a hotdog, which would you use...ketchup or mustard?”

... they are both, I surmise, manufactured in the same factory in China employing slave labor from North Korea, and containing traces of lead as well as dog fur.

I heard we are supposed to boycott goods from Dogfur.

>> “If you were to make the best BLT in the world tonight, what would you use?” <<

Best Food’s / Hellman’s Olive oil mayonase! (or home maid)

Make sure that your mayo doesn’t have Canola, Soy, or Safflower oil. Besides tasting terrible, they are deadly.

Isn't it amazing that a thread about Mayo versus Miracle Whip gets over 300 replies?

I love the Internet almost as much as I love Best Foods. LOL

Homemade

1 egg yolk
1/2 teaspoon fine salt
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
2 pinches sugar
2 teaspoons fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
1 cup oil, safflower or corn
Directions
In a glass bowl, whisk together egg yolk and dry ingredients. Combine lemon juice and vinegar in a separate bowl then thoroughly whisk half into the yolk mixture. Start whisking briskly, then start adding the oil a few drops at a time until the liquid seems to thicken and lighten a bit, (which means you’ve got an emulsion on your hands). Once you reach that point you can relax your arm a little (but just a little) and increase the oil flow to a constant (albeit thin) stream. Once half of the oil is in add the rest of the lemon juice mixture.

Continue whisking until all of the oil is incorporated. Leave at room temperature for 1 to 2 hours then refrigerate for up to 1 week.
