Wilson also threw people, like socialist leader Eugene Debs, in prison for opposing WWI. But since he was a Democrat, that info has been swept under the rug over time. Can’t have the knowledge that a beloved Dem prez like Wilson tossed people in the klink for being anti-war out in the open. There were also the Palmer raids named after Wilson’s atty gen that after the war rounded up real and suspected violent anarchists and radicals. Many people were illegally arrested. Not talked about much in liberal Dem circles. Jonah anti-constitutional actions.
