The obvious solution...

I don’t really care. I think hockey is better anyway.

Hockey has the same problem.

Bull, bull and more bull.

Seriously, if you think like this, why aren’t you over at Democratic Underground?

Not sure how this can be construed a Left vs Right issue.

I am suprised that does not come up more often in the nanny state. You have kids starting in high school that are encouraged to stuff themselves like a pig so they can get bigger.
I am talking about linemen on both sides of the ball. Being over 300 pounds is not good for the heart.

There is no question in my mind that repeatedly hitting your head hard is bad for you. I don’t need to be a doctor to know that.

I can support a ban on any sport at the high school level that routinely does damage as part of the normal course. These are minors.

However, once you become an adult, you should be allowed to take risks if you want to. I’d like to see the game go on, with the athletes being fully informed and consenting. They can do it if they want to.

I heard this on Rush a few days ago. I was once discussing this with a fellow auto mechanic I deliver to. I joked, "maybe in the future, football (and other sports), you will have a virtual game played on a Playstation." He added, "I can see it now, 22 nerds with 22 Playstations (11 players each team) all hooked into a mainframe for each NFL game." I said, "we can always go the route of 'The Jetsons,' robot football players."

Heh. How about rugby (second row) and PKA (old full contact sanction) fights (yeah)?

[There are better things to do, really. Good young men should learn more about agriculture, animal husbandry, warfare and history. Football is so...corporate-government zombie...and wimpy.]

Great. Turn football into faggotball. It would be the crowning achievement of the left to utterly and completely destroy this tradition.

So what?

Most of the NFL players and a good number of the owners are part of the Baraqqi Coalition.

The Steelers guy gave so much money they made him ambassador to Ireland.

I think the current set of players should countersue with the claim the retired players suing the NFL over this issue are attempting to remove thier income stream.

.......next question: is GW to blame for this also?

Eh, don’t really care about him. He’s a primadonna anyway.

Hockey has far fewer divas though. Plus the Stanley Cup is one of the oldest and most prestigious sports awards in the world.

Of course. Let's also blame him for the Great Depression, even though he wasn't born then.
