Posted on 06/19/2012 4:27:49 PM PDT by ak267
An article by Michael O'Brien on MSNBC's First Read this morning quotes an "informal" advisor to Mitt Romney's campaign as saying that the presidential candidate is not likely to choose a woman as his running mate because Sarah Palin "poisoned the well" for women, with the possible exception of New Hampshire freshman Sen. Kelly Ayotte.

Oh, man...let me drink of that poison.
Yeah right, and Romney advisors and operatives were serving it up.
The McCain/Palin ticket was up ++4 to 10 pts
in some polls, days prior to Election 2008.
So rather than helping the GOP, Romney and
TeamROMNEY and the RNME (Republican National Media Establishment)
decided to attack Gov. Palin to throw Election2008.
Romney, and the Van der Sloot RNME RINOs for Obama in 2008
Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."
The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"Im told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palins people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romneys former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.
"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off .hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."
"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the Diva leak was Nicolle Wallaces husband."
Kelly Ayotte is more qualified that Obama to be president and not quite as qualified as Sarah Palin.
Sarah Palin is so much better than anyone running it only shows this asshole for what he is....
“How many Sarah Palins can dance on the head of a pin?”
Following their ‘narratives’ off the cliff: how the media’s world became strictly for idiots.
God I hate team romney. It would be so much easier to tell the truth and say that IF the well was poisoned for women, it was the left that poisoned it. But no.....team romney has to pile on one more time for no gain. I hope Sarah never endorses his slimy a$$
You get an “informal adviser” drunk and who know what fun stuff spews out.
Willie Mitty.. is not likely to choose a woman as his running mate because ...
his Soroslike handlers in SLC wont let him...
even if he wanted to...
Surely it’s this kind of honest leadership that will save America from Obama.../S
I don’t believe any crap from the 0bamatrons at MSNBC unless I see a name associated with it.
She doesn't owe Juan or any other DNC2 party member anything!
Run Sarah Run!!!!
Since MSNBC has altered a total of 5 videos so far this year, is this to be believed?
Is that because of her "severely conservative" views?
PMS-NBC is quoting an ‘unnamed advisor’? Color me skeptical of the whole story. Sounds designed to cause dissension in the Republican ranks.
It must be true because MSNBC says so.
Translation: she said not just no but hayull no, lol.
So they are going to go for the quick death by bringing in Rubio? Brilliant.
Limbaugh said today that little marko is destined to be president. I’m not for that at all.
Limbaugh has the inside news.
Some of us haven’t forgotten.
MSNBC/NBC speak: “informal advisor”
English translation: “We just make this crap up. Who’s gonna check it? You?”
The GOP poisoned the well with McLame and Romney. Palin is a shining light.
Consider the source....MSNBC. What better way to sew discord among conservative than to divide and conquer. I’ll believe this was said when I hear it, not when MSNBC says they heard it.
Hmmm. I like that theory ....
They are still shakin’ in their boots whenever her name is mentioned. Saw a poll, not official, where Palin had a 60+% approval rating, recently. THAT is why they are still attacking. Palin has the good ground, though, at the top of the hill. Which is why Romney can’t replace her yet, no one else comes close.
I’m not all wobbly-knee’d about the state of America, and though I have always voted republican, the Romney camp better think again. I’m not scared to let them down.
Can’t honestly think of an other reason to be doubling down on the snark along about now.
Given this is from MSNBC, it should be considered disinformation.
Up Yours ORomney Brown-nose.
Sarah has more conservatism in her little toe than Willard does in his whole Democrat-lite body.
Sarah Palin she was right then and she is right now.
Romneyite backstabbers trying to revise history PING!
Generally yes, but Romney people have a history of undercutting Palin. It’s quite possible.
Then again, the ‘unnamed source” thing is an old reporter trick to editorialize. That ‘source’ likely sits in the next cubicle.
Having worked in the media I assure you it happens often.
I’d say no, FUMR, Sarah is poisoning YOUR well with conservatives in Congress and everywhere else that YOU are too chickenshit to want to deal with.
Put salt into wounds, aren't we? Thank you, GOP.
Kelly Ayotte? Why her? I haven’t seen her do anything to get that consideration. Frankly, I thought she’s been somewhat underwhelming.
If I were Milt, I’d tell my “advisors” that they better STFU! Right now, I’m going to hold my nose and vote for the GOP presidential candidate in November. I’ll shower good when I get home. However, this kind of bull**** WILL keep me home on election day. SHUT THE FLUKE UP AND DON’T PISS ME OFF ANY MORE THAN I ALREADY AM! JMO!
So, is this Romney trying to make sure I sit this one out, or is it NBC trying to make sure I sit this one out?
Oh, that’s good. Get a “freshman” Senator. That’ll show ‘em you’re serious about someone with executive experience.
I thought Sarah was and is absolutely brilliant. Romney’s comment makes no sense
Rubik is pro-amnesty and rejected the Tea Party Caucus. He also opposed the AZ illegal alien law.
NO MORE RINOS!!!!!!
So you condemn rumors about Palin and believe rumors about Romney?
So far as I can find out "Palmetto Scoop" is Adam Fogle who worked for Richard Quinn's consultancy firm MMS. MMS worked for McCain in South Carolina.
Romney engaged the rival firm, TTS Strategies, during his primary campaign back then. Getting a rumor out about a competitor would have been very much in Fogle's and Quinn's interest.
We don't know if there was actually anything behind the rumor. There were enough core McCain people angry at Palin, enough Palin people angry at McCain, and enough people angry at Romney that any number of things may have been going on.
Since there is no named source for this statement it may just be disinformation spread by the media to discourage conservatives and boost Obama’s reelection chances.
I’ll take this with a HUGE grain of salt. I wouldn’t put it past the LEFT to try a divide and conquer move here to split the camps. It’s soooooo like them.
Sarah Palin is the only reason many Conservatives showed up at the voting booths in 2008.
Rumors? The GOP Establishment hates Sarah Palin. McCain and Romney are both card-carrying members of the GOP Establishment. Johm McCain was so arrogant, so sure-fire dedicated to maintaining his “Maverick” moniker, that he chose Palin just to prove he was his own man.
I don’t hink McCain had a clue as to what Palin stood for. He surely had no idea how to use her. She rescued his faltering campaign.
Romney and his bots (who are GOP Establishment all the way) KNEW that Palin would be the person to beat in 2012. Romney and the entire GOP Establishment went after Palin with a vengeance, knowing that they had to do everything they could to marginalize her ASAP because she WOULD be the nominee, not Mitt, in 2012.
The only reason I will vote for Romney it to vote against Obama.
You know, I was willing to vote for Ann Romney to get a much better 1st lady. But if they keep this Palin bashing ***t up, I just may have to write Sarah in. Not a good thing to piss us off at the moment...
Romney is not fit to polish Palin’s high heel
