It’s always wonderful to see Sallie remembered, especially by the many visitors who leave little gifts for her or pause to have their photos—sometimes even their dogs’ photos—taken with her as a souvenir of their visit to Gettysburg. Besides biscuits, flags, coins, and flowers often decorate her pedestal.

This is beautiful. Sallie was more of an American than the current dog in the White House.
