WEST YELLOWSTONE, Mont. (CBS Seattle/AP) — Officials in Yellowstone National Park say a Massachusetts man was gored by a bull bison that threw him 10 feet in the air and then pinned him to the ground.

The dope should have moved away. Probably appeared to be confronting the critter. You don’t mess with bison.

Considering what a bull bison CAN do, this fellow came out doing pretty well in this encounter. The bison was just being merciful.

A charged up bull bison can just about back down a grizzly bear. Not an easily domesticated creature. The closest thing there is to a rhinoceros on the North American continent.

The closest approach ANY human being should make is from a quarter mile away, with a high-powered rifle and going for a heart shot. And to think the Dakota Indians once hunted them on foot.

With spears and with bow and arrow.

Mostly they just got them to stampede off a cliff, and skinned and dressed out the kill at the bottom.

“Park officials say the man was not taunting the animal, but let the bull approach within a few feet of where he was sitting and refused to move away.”

Way to show that bison who’s boss.

We went to see the large herd when we were in South Dakota back in the 1990’s and ended up leaving earlier than we wanted to.There were 2 guys trying to get up really close to then and wanted photos of them running. We decided that we did not want to be so close if they stampeded.I know by the body language that the makes were not happy about what we being done to them. Some people are idiots when it comes to animals.

dime-a-dozen.

>> shoulder blade

yawn.

>> several ribs

You got plenty of ribs. Big deal.

>> and a groin injury

oh-KAY. The ol’ unspecified GROIN injury. NOW we’re getting to the “point”! That’s prolly why they call it “gore”.
