Are republicans who buy newspapers unpatriotic?

Posted on 07/02/2012 10:02:12 AM PDT by Halfmanhalfamazing

(or some other form of direct payments, how about a TIME[or other magazine] subscription?)

We got screwed by John Roberts and the SCOTUS on Obamacare. But not really.

Roberts capitulated because he feared what the journalist chattering class would print about him.

If you want to save America, defeating the media is job #1.

I know the old saw of "patriotic/unpatriotic" and who's patriotism is whatever is typically a liberal's playground, but enough is enough. The media stands on the side of tyranny, no republican(who the media clearly hates, they show it daily) should be directly funding them with dollars. Consider these questions:

Where would Obama be without the media? Where would Obamacare be without the media? Where would the GOP-E be without the media?

We need to defeat this media. And as we saw not all that long ago with Rumsfeld, there are plenty of republicans out there who (sadly)directly fund their political enemies.

I would not say Unpatriotic, but I do question a person who wants to get a newspaper that is 24 hours old already. It is an unfair question though because many people still get the paper for the obits in their towns.

Are republicans who buy newspapers unpatriotic?

Not if they are buying them for the benefit of their parakeet.

I’ve done my part in canceling the Atlanta Journal several years ago. I take great pleasure in my reply every time they call to ask us to restart the subscription.

I will continue getting the newspaper for the simple reason that I enjoy it.

Purchasing the NY Times or the Washington post is only excusable, if you own a bird.

Fair enough. I always enjoyed being on the deck with a cup of coffee reading the paper years ago. I still do that with the IPAD but it is a bit different.

What’s wrong with paper towels?

Price of paper towels: a few bucks.

Price of newspapers: your liberty.

What’s your parakeet worth to you? Chains and slavery?

Had this debate by Obama, Pelosi, the dems...had they been honest that this was a tax it would never have been passed and thus never come before the court. Roberts simply wanted this to be law.....the Effing traitor. He is a quisling of the highest order. Roberts is the law. Nothing else,...not the constitution, not the Congress, and certainly not the people. Roberts is a law unto himself.

Having passed the law under a fraud, we then are dictated law under the personal preference and the rewriting of the law, disregarding the specific wording, disregarding the legislative history, and cherry picking the political declarations of Obama and the dems, we are given the dicta of ONE MAN. He is a law unto himself.

RESIGN JOHN ROBERTS

Fair enough.

Hope you enjoy Obamacare, because you partially funded it’s final SCOTUS decision. You are paying for your own loss of liberty.

I don’t intend on being overly offensive, but I do believe that brevity is the soul of wit.

Republicans and especially conservatives that do not exercise all means to deny the MSM revenue are stupid.

I go as far as informing advertisers in free leftist newspapers that they are blacklisted for their ad.

I meant all newspapers, not just the big lib names. Nearly every locality has a liberal rag, and every damn one of them needs to be bankrupted at accelerated rates.

I cancelled Time magazine when the elder Bush was running, I didn’t like their coverage. It was the first time I noticed the language differences when reading about Pubbies vs dumbs. I know, I was late to that party.

I cancelled our newspaper during election hell month while albore was trying to steal the election from the younger Bush.

This conservative doesn’t buy newspapers because the newspapers are unpatriotic.

I fully support all attempts to impeach John Roberts.

But we can’t impeach the media. And I do not and will not accept any attempt to use the power of big government to hassle the media. That’s not how a true conservative acts.

We can do this ourselves, we the people. We need to defund them.

I doubt that a newspaper makes for a comfortable butt wipe.(I know you were kidding)

And the ‘fish wrap’ ship has sailed. There’s all kinds of plastics that can be used that don’t come at the cost of liberty. In most states, you can still get plastic bags when you buy groceries.

There you go. Fully free fish wrap. Won’t even cost you a quarter. That way you don’t have to give your quarter to Obama *COUGH* I mean the newspaper.

I like newspapers because I can take them anywhere, don’t worry about leaving it when I’m done and I really don’t like being tied to something that requires a power supply. They’re way easier to read also.
