After being on FR for more than ten years I've finally had enough of the brown shirted fascism censoring valid conservative viewpoints. Enjoy your echo chamber of whining syncophants. I'm off to go help Mitt get elected while you bitch and moan about who is or isn't conservative enough.
Reagan did sign the abortion bill in California when he was governor. He later said he regretted it.
OOPS! It should be Obama!
Thanks for pointing that out! LOL
A post must have at least 200 words to even get examined for acceptance into the Opus category. This isnt even little league let alone minor league Opus stuff.
There is no airing of grievences, no naming of posters who have wronged you...and not a single curse word disguised with symbols that sit atop the string of numbers on the keyboard.
This is truly just a goodbye note.
Lets make sure Mitt has a Conservative Congress and Senate! See how he gave in to the Liberals in Mass.-—He will find it easier to cave into the tea Party People in congress! Strange things happen—Maybe Mitt will be a great president? It could happen.
Someone will find your computer and post that you died and your real name and when and where and how. (Who expected cocaine poisoning while doing jumps on a ski-doo?)
Us old farts watch out for each other.
And quit posting...
No FReeper will ever notice.
I've already written a nice opus, praising F.R., to be posted posthumously, by my son, who is also a member. How's that for finality? People won't even be able to tell me not to let the door hit me on the way out, cause I'll already be past that berm beyond which no man returns.
I think you used more words critiqueing the opus than were in the opus. I agree; pretty lame, as opi go.
Regan wasnt not pro abortion.
He did sign a very liberal abrotion law as mu Gov , but like Mitt he switched later. Thats the point NO ONE IS Perfect.
The Therapeutic Abortion Act
Which was to abortion what Medicinal Marijuana is to pot:
On June 14, 1967, Ronald Reagan signed the Therapeutic Abortion Act, after only six months as California governor.
From a total of 518 legal abortions in California in 1967, the number of abortions would soar to an annual average of 100,000 in the remaining years of Reagans two terms more abortions than in any U.S. state prior to the advent of Roe v. Wade.
Shud be : Reagan was not pro abortion.
That's my new gig.
Democat is a bit weird though....( Your tag, not mine...But I like it!...)
Cadavercrat...seems more right...In this instance. And equally weird, too! So perfect!!
Its rather a wasted effort, I must say.
It's ok, my 1900+ Twitter followers actually care when I stop saying stuff. You can follow me @comradescott
May God have mercy on your soul.................
There ya go.
You’ll be missed. All the old guard being replaced by trolls, Mormon haters, the FRaliban, and power-hungry admin moderators.
Well, don’t the door hit you where the good lord split you.
Stop twittering and see how long it is before you are forgotten. We are all dust and unto dust we shall return.
You know.....that’s comforting.
I agree. I see stuff that makes me cringe--probably every time I come on FR, but I also see a lot of things I agree with. FR has truly been a sanity saver for me plus I've learned a lot over the years and I keep very well informed. Often I see things posted here well before most conservatives and definitely way before most of America.
To Gura, I guess I can understand why a person would get fed up and want to leave, but why post about it? You are just going to be ridiculed. Best just to quietly fade away IMO if that's what you desire. Good luck.
Yup I am all in for ABO
Can anyone name the alternative to Mitt that we should support?
I wish you nothing but the best Jim. Protesting in 2000 with my fellow Freepers over Gore vs Bush is what really stoked the political fires within me. I just hate having my opinions deleted by mods when they’re neither profane or hateful, just honest.
A lib would complain about their first amendment rights but as a conservative I’m smart enough to know that doesn’t apply here. :-)
I just assumed you were a Nebraskaphobe.
I've a family member that knows I post here....but they don't post here.
I've a couple friends that know I post here...but they don't post here either.
Must I call Rover?
What ever did happen to old Osage Orange? Anyone seen him posting recently? Then someone goes to look at lasts posts and sees it's been a while. Then there's the sad post about the felling of a windrow tree.
Best to have an after-death opus ready for FR.
You do matter.
Please don’t start this Romney crap again. I’ve been smacking down the liars and the deceived who have been passing this garbage for six years. Needless to say I have the proof you are wrong. Along with the fact that I am old enough to remember this and know exactly what really happened.
So look it up yourself. Start with the link at the bottom of this post.
Ronald Reagan passed a law which stated-
No abortion except for the health of the mother.
This is not pro abortion talk at all. Even today that view would be considered pro life.
Mitt Romney stated-
He would protect a woman’s right to murder her child.
He also said, Govt. should not interfere with a woman’s right to murder her child.
Mitt Romney absolutely pro abortion, pro-choice, pro death to the unborn.
What Reagan said and what Romney said are no where near equivalent.
But Romney did have an epiphany about abortion when he decide to run for office.
Lying Mitt and his minions trying to make him look better in comparison by trashing Reagan who is no longer here to defend himself. One of the very long list of reasons why I will never vote for that lying socialist son of an Alinsky-ite.
Oh, and here is your proof:
Give it some time. It’s an old article. I have a fast connection and it still took a while for me to load.
Ditto what Cop Smile said.....................
Kissinger I believe.
If you didn’t want your post deleted, you should not have laced it with F bombs.
Pfffttt!!! A little cheese with your whine sir?
Can you give negative numbers? Way to short and whiny. Most have more to say after they’ve been kicked in the filberts.
Yeah but Reagan changed his mind on all these things well over 15 years before becoming president. He also governed California as a conservative.
“I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!” -Barry Goldwater
I am voting ABO that can win, and down ticket for all the conservatives I can find.
The Strategery still works despite the wrench Roberts threw into the gears.
What he signed was an abortion bill that would be considered pro life today. It said no abortions except for the health of the mother. He did not know the dems would construe health of the mother to mean any little thing. But even today that bill would greatly limit the number of abortions.
He regretted it because it was used by the dems, libs and socialists to open the flood gates and way more abortions occurred than he ever imagined. He regretted that greatly. But that does not make that bill pro-abortion. It is less pro life than say, no abortions at all under any circumstance or no abortions except for rape and incest or no abortions except for the life of the mother.
But that does not make it pro abortion or pro choice like Romney’s a woman’s “right” to choose to abort her baby should be protected and govt. should not interfere with a woman’s “right” to abort her child. That is pro abort and pro choice. Nor did Reagan’s bill provide $50.00 or free abortions for anyone. That was all Romney’s doing.
Don’t hold your breath too long while you stamp your little feet. You could turn blue.
That’s the other thing about Reagan, there were several things he did, that he later said he regretted. Guy had stones to admit mistakes and not gloss over them. Buck stopped with him.
I've felled a widow maker tree, and lived to tell about it. Among many other things.............HA!! Too many to list here...!!!
Of course I matter...But to those here...nope.
My family and personal friends..matter, and care about me.
Sad to say....I've only met one other FReeper..and that was years ago.
And sadly I don't know what has become of her.
