If you want a truly interesting experience, head away from Buenos Aires on a bicycle while singing praises for globalism.

Mark Sanford certainly enjoyed it.

I haven’t, but a good friend visited there as recently as a year ago with her husband & family. (She also spent several years there as a teenager due to her father’s work.) Didn’t have anything bad to say — sounded, and looked from the pictures, like a gorgeous place.

What type of information are you looking for? How long will you be staying? It’s a large modern city with all the amenities, a neat flea market, and decent food. I only had one night there so I only saw the tourist end of things.

No, but if you’re going you have to watch Starship Troopers beforehand.

You single? Married?

I was single and would live there in a minute if I could and earn a living there and see my son in the USA on a regular basis.

18 years in the navy east and west coast. BsAs is by far the best place I have been for a single man.

It would be great for a married couple to as there are many things to do like Tango all night long.

Hope this helps.

Yes I was in Buenos Aires for a little over a week a few years back, beautiful city and folks stay up very late there and enjoy life. They speak Spanish but it sounds like Italian the way they pronounce words.

I have a close friend who still lives there, let me know if I can help answer some of your questions

Many times but always on business. Buenos Aires is a beautiful city, reminiscent of Paris. Excellent food (the best of their beef is the best in the world), friendly people, very beautiful women (Latin with an Italian touch), very warm summers but mild winters (seasons opposite of ours, of course).

NOT inexpensive but more affordable than Europe (exchange rate is around 4.50 Argentine Pesos to $1). Right now the economy is in pretty good shape but that country is a political and economic roller coaster with a history of populist/socialist mismanagement.

Their current president could pass (politically speaking) as what we'd have if Hillary had been elected in '08. Very large country with vast resources. If not for their politics it could be one of the top ten richest countries on earth. And of course they are in the process right now of starting up the Falklands / Malvinas bulls*** with Britain again. I think it's a handy way for politicians of declining popularity, like President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner (see below for a picture taken before her looks declined), to distract the population.

If what I've heard about Argentina is even half true I wouldn't get within 1000 miles of it.What little I've seen of Brazil was no prize and they're supposed to be light years ahead of Argentina.

Sorry to rain on your parade...seriously.

The only South American country worth going to is Chile.

I was there in January of 2010. Loved it, beautiful city. It was their summer. It did not seem really that expensive.

I stayed at the Four Seasons.

Back in the 80s they had a dictator who had his secret police kidnap people and torture them.

Beautiful city, full of beautiful women. Steak, wine, music. Like the poster above, it’s a place I’ve never been able to forget, and wonder if I shouldn’t have just moved there when I was younger.

I am from Middle Tn. and there are many families thinking of jumping ship to Ecudor. Some went to Belieze but I don’t think they are that happy. Ecudor is a very interesting country. Many ex-pats there.

If you love wine, steak and beautiful women, it is the best place on the planet.
