I can see the thug wannabes are alive and well on FR.
One wonders if their sense of justice would be offended if someone in their family were charged and convicted of a crime and powers that be came to their door and demanded a pound of flesh from them to atone for what a relative did. After all, they might have had an idea their relative may have done something wrong, and maybe not. But, they should have known. Guilt by proximity and surname or genetics. Makes no difference. Someone from the east side of Anytown, USA committed a heinous crime...well, lets carpetbomb to the city limits. Damn the innocent folks downtown. Brutal justice must be served.
Yeah, when stuff like this happens where people fly off the handle and want to go beyond justice but revenge, brutal revenge. Many times I feel like I'm Henry Fonda in the "Ox-Bow Incident" or "Twelve Angry Men" where he wanted to have cooler heads prevail.
I think the NCAA is being way too harsh, they are punishing the kids on the football team for nothing they did.
I just find it that there are many who want to be cruel and hammer anyone who looks like they did something wrong and/or for the actions of one person who has already been through the justice system. Punish the actor if found guilty, not the innocent.
I think I've tempered my views since I know what it is like to be accused of something but I did not do it. Luckily in my case, the system worked, but it could have been worse. It was handled outside the justice system.
Same thing happened to my best friend I've hung around since 4th grade except it was part of the justice system. He was accused by his girlfriend at the time for abusing her kids, physically, not sexually, and he was arrested and put in county lockup for a night. His mother, on kidney dialysis, was in a tizzy. Luckily for my buddy, his girlfriend's father fessed up wit the truth where she wanted to get back at my buddy so he was release, no charges filed.
It's s shame that we have a few hotheads on our side, I mean, ain't the liberal wackos enough to deal with without resorting to their style of emotional, kneejerk reactions?
