For those who went, would you please write a little bit on the people you might have run into or a conversation you had about what people did this weekend?

For those of us who didn’t go.....

Thanks.

Boots

“And best of all, not a “fellow traveler” in the bunch.”

I noticed this too. I think patriotism to them is like garlic to a vampire. They just can't take it. It was also interesting the stadium was left cleaner than when event started.

I had forgot about the book signings. I saw quite a few people walking around with an armload of books.

I hope you did well!

You are correct. There are excerpts available at TheBlaze.

Or you can watch the whole thing in high-def by signing up for a two-week free trial at GBTV. You can cancel immediately after watching, so it doesn't cost a ¢,

"What were some of the ‘priceless’ historical documents or artifacts that Beck was trumpeting on his radio show?"

Adding to the thorough list of artifacts others have given, I also recall there was a handwritten letter by Abraham Lincoln containing points of logic and argument against slavery written very early in his career.

To elaborate about the paintings on stage, Arnold Friberg’s famous painting of George Washington, “The Prayer at Valley Forge”, was there displayed together with a color study of the same painting used by the artist which had never before been seen in public.

It was a wonderful presentation.

that’s totally understandable. it’s been a very long time since anything remotely interesting happened in cowboy stadium.

“For those who went, would you please write a little bit on the people you might have run into or a conversation you had about what people did this weekend?”

Let's see. I met a family from Kansas that drove down to help with the food drive. It was quite successful and they filled 11 semi trucks with food to be sent to food pantries in 11 different cities. They were very pumped and said it was the largest food drive they had seen. They were Baptists and young. They had three cute girls all under 12 years of age. They got a book signed by Sarah Palin and showed it to me.

I met another couple from Saint Louis that had come down to help repair churches in the area. They had worked in 100 plus degree heat and were a bit toasted and sunburned. They were Methodists. They did not want to leave and were kind of hanging around after the event on Saturday ended. They were complaining the organizers sold out of tee shirts as they wanted to take some back for friends.

I also met a large Marine that was from Dallas and attending alone. He was a Glenn Beck fan and a Tea Party guy. He had been to a Tea Party at Dallas City Hall a while back and had good things to say about it. He loved it when they played the Battle Hymn of the Republic. I am glad he is on our side. His arms were bigger than my legs.

I found it interesting at the Cowboy Stadium Event last night they patted down every attendee going in, but they were not looking for guns or knives (I am 100% sure of that!). All the pat down people were citizen volunteers. The type of pat down they were doing made me believe they were looking for explosive vests worn under clothing.

There were also some private movie showings at a venue in Hurst, Texas, but I don't know much about that. There was a large event at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, but I missed that.

Beck is sometimes insufferable and overly dramatic, but I for one think he is sincere.

Your critique on the otherhand sounded simply Mormon-hate.
A question I sometimes ask both myself and others, is would you rather your neighbor be a Mormon or one of the freeloading America haters. The answer is most easy for most of us.

“...that’s totally understandable. it’s been a very long time since anything remotely interesting happened in cowboy stadium.”

LOL - I had not been to the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington until last night. I got to see the whole stadium without having to dish out a few hundred bucks for a game! It costs me $10 plus gas and even the parking was free!

IMHO, the stadium is an engineering marvel. What impressed me most was the air conditioning. It was 103 degrees outside and when you walk through the doors you hit 75 degree air - and this is a stadium with a total capacity of 110,000 people. The exo-skeleton design is quite something. The acoustics are not real good, but I don't think anything can fix that due to the shape of the arena and the sheer mass of the glass finish out. It still had that new car smell and a very modern look to it.

Cool. Thanks! I appreciate it.

I hope people who went get to buy T-Shirts of the event like the ones that sold out. Or the other things. Having those things would help defray some of the other costs.

I didn’t know about the baseball card thing, but I watched Beck’s speech. I liked it.

Was the music really as good as I’ve read it was?

Did you get to see the video flooring? That was quite a bit of FX. I was amazed.

I was next door at the Ballpark, I was wondering what all the cars at Cowboys Stadium were for.

There’s a reason it’s called “The Death Star.”

There were tee shirts from churches, synagogues, motorcycle clubs, branches of the the military, private schools, Tea Party groups, other conservative groups, etc., and they were from all over the country. I met some folks from Kansas and Missouri and even a family that had come from India! This was not a homogeneous group. A real cross section of America and other countries.

GRASS. ROOTS. MOVEMENT.

As in the real thing.

Better yet, it is steadily growing.

The "progressive liberal" communists fear this beyond all other things.

“Was the music really as good as I’ve read it was?”

Yes, I thought so. They had one teeny snafu when they failed to turn a singer's mike on, but that was just for a few seconds.

“Did you get to see the video flooring?”

No, I was at eye level to the stage. They put it on the big screen a couple of times and quite frankly I did not know what I was looking at until you mentioned it!

The title has been changed at the link to “Thousands Gather For Beck Event”. I’m not sure what it was when you posted. The occupation media just does not like to report the real numbers when it is about conservatives.

I think that was me.

“Thousands” could mean 2,000 and pissed me off. Should have inserted “My Title” but forgot.
