Man angry about arrest used tractor like monster truck to crush 7 cop vehicles

MONTPELIER, Vt. - Working in a stout former bank building with windows closed and air conditioners humming, Orleans County sheriff's deputies didn't know what was happening in their parking lot until a neighbour called 911.

A man on a big farm tractor, angry about his recent arrest for resisting arrest and marijuana possession, was rolling across their vehicles — five marked cruisers, one unmarked car and a transport van.

By the time they ran outside, the tractor was down the driveway and out onto the road. With their vehicles crushed, "We had nothing to pursue him with," said Chief Deputy Philip Brooks.

Thursday afternoon's incident ended when city police in Newport, the county seat of the northern Vermont county, caught up with Roger Pion, 34, a short distance away. No one was injured. At least two deputies had gone inside a few moments before after washing their vehicles, officials said.

...

Not only were their roofs and hoods caved in, but "the radios are ruined, the radar detectors, the cages in the cars ... We're going to have to get the jaws of life up here to pry the trunks open and see about the rifles and shotguns," Martin said.

How long before this guy gets a sponsor for Monster Jam and in addition to Bigfoot and Gravedigger we'll be seeing Cop Crusher.

Not guilty!

Any police department that actually ARRESTS a citizen for possessing a dried out plant deserves to have their cars pancaked.

I have always wanted to do something like that. Of course since I am not stupid, I never would.

That must have been FUN!

Unfortunately for him the cops don’t agree.

In a related story - someone broke in the police station and stole all the toilets. They don't know who did it, and the police have nothing to go on.

Not the police that suffer...it is the taxpayers, that have to buy new cars, $300,000 worth has come from the property taxes of the poor and the well-off of the community....not a funny joke to those that have to pay....

Not funny.

And probably the guy’s anger issues are due to bipolar disorder resulting from pot smoking. Not a harmless drug at all.

I don’t know.

I don’t smoke pot and I’m not bi-polar but there have been times that if I had a tractor that big and saw a line of freshly washed cop cars sitting in the sunshine, I’d have been sorely tempted to open up a can of BIG FOOT on them.

The guy’s name is Pion. I guess he has suffered from an inferiority complex all his life.

Two other facts from another source:

1, these vehicles belonged to the county sheriff department; his pot bust was by the town police, and

2, it was his parent's tractor! Sucks for them! Though something tells me they are probably used to it.

Still, at the surface level, there is a part of me that admires the guy...

Cops sequestered in their air-conditioned, sound proof vault, unaware of the crime being committed against them in their own parking lot...

At $300,000, that’s $43,000 per cruiser which is way too much to be paying anyway. Taxpayers are getting ripped off to begin with.

Regarding the ‘poor’ taxpayers, they get what they deserve.

As long as this useless war on pot continues at their demand, they can pay for it. And they will pay for it in all kinds of unintended ways like this.

“Any police department that actually ARRESTS a citizen for possessing a dried out plant deserves to have their cars pancaked.”

Oh really. And who gets to replace all those cars and equipment? It doesn’t come out of the cops’ pocket.

You pot smoking is starting to interfere with your logical ability. But whatever, it’s just a dried out weed, like oregano or basil. Doesn’t harm a soul /s

Look at what happens when they are let out on bail.
