So how many "Tax Payer Billions" were handed to GM? How many Billions were wasted on the Volt? So they say that Obama saved GM,ok,then why aren't all tax payers receiving a check in the mail? Wasn't it us,the taxpayers of America who paid for the GM Bailouts? Here is a great catch phrase we can deliver to the felons in the White House for stealing our money and giving it to the "Obama Unions",,"Where's My Camaro" !!! All tax payers should of received a FREE CAMARO !

Has anybody seen the Volt commercial where the genius says that the car gets extra power for going uphill from the BATTERY POWERED GENERATOR. Why would you use a battery to turn a generator to produce electricity? Maybe the commercial was written by Obama.

What he saved was the UAW, and only in a secondary sense GM, by cleverly transferring to America’s massive public debt fiscal liability for the economically unsustainable UAW retirement and medical care benefit package that GM had acquired through “collective bargaining” with the UAW.

Let us assume there are 100M taxpayers in America, to keep the numbers round.
To send each a $10 check would cost $1B. Which is a lot of money to anybody but the government.
To send each a $1000 check would cost $100B, which is a lot of money even to the government.
To provide each with a $40,000 Camaro would therefore cost $4T. Which is about 1.2x the Federal Budget for 2012, or about 25% of the national debt.
I will take my share in the form of a 2013 ZR1 Corvette.

I had an eligible clunker, but it was running fine, and I really couldn't trade it in to “buy” the monthly debt payments in “owning a new car” I already couldn't afford.

I do feel very stupid for trying to live within my means. After all, if I had bought the house and car I could not possibly afford to pay for, the entire Democrat party and the MSM would be telling me what a very fine citizen I am!
