Ron Palillo, “Horshack” on Welcome Back, Kotter, Dies at 63
“Hallo! Howrya? Very impressive, Mista Kotta!”.
RIP. You gave me a lot of laughs when I was a kid.
Even back when he was on Kotter, I assumed he was.
That’s terrible and wayyyyyyyyy...... Too young.
So what’s that leave us? Minnie Barbarino and Mr. Kotter?
He was gay? I had no idea.
I assumed Horshack was going to be break-out star of that show, just like I assumed Madonna was a flash in the pan, and Cindy Lauper was going to be around to stay.
“Boom Boom” is still around.
Horshack is very old and respectable name. It means, “The cattle are dying.”
The obit I read said, “partner of 41 years”.
Mr. Woodman, the Vice Principal, was my favorite character on that show. I wonder what he would say if he knew about Arnold and his "partner?"
Makes me think of Scientology and John Revolting.
When Welcome Back Kotter was cancled network TV started its steep decline. Come to think of it, Fonzie jumped the shark about that time.
Ted Kennedy was discovered passed out in a whore’s shack once.
I think he put the rubber hose someplace other than up his nose.
He shall rise again.
What business did he have with his partner, and why did it require a 4am check-in? Must have been in the security field or something.
Not a good year for Sweathogs:

Robert Hegyes, Juan Epstein of ‘Welcome Back Kotter’ dead at 60
RIP to Horshack. Used to watch that show growing up.
I had a friend who was a writer on the show. He thought Horshack and the guy who played the principal were genuinely good actors. At the time, Travolta was wearing a wig on the show because he was shooting Saturday Night Fever and had his hair cut short. We certainly didn’t know he was to become a superstar.
Creepy, very creepy indeed.
I agree especially on the Cyndi Lauper part.
I have to admit I didn’t even know his name. But then again more people know who he was better than most of the czars iin the Obama admin.
Anyhow,RIP second rate tv actor.
I went to a taping of Welcome Back Kotter once. Each actor was introduced and came out to applause...Horshack, Boom Boom, Epstein, etc. Then the announcer said, "And now...the gorgeous sex symbol you've all been waiting to see!" The audience went wild, thinking Travolta was about to come out. Instead, out came Mr. Woodman, basking in the applause! Funny I still remember that humorous moment, all these years later.
Funny! That is a nice memory.
Yes. I LMAO when Jerry Seinfeld had him in one episode as a "library cop".
Talk about perfect casting..
Oops.. My mistake. Mr. Woodman was NOT Mr. Bookman, the library cop on Seinfeld.
Two different actors.
It's *frightening* -- I instinctively knew Weiner reminded me of someone, and you put your finger on it!
(I hope you wore gloves...)
Nope, was a reply on some Romney tax smear thread thursday...I wanted it to be under the radar or subtle, and that I acheived..again nice job, wld like to hear it performed.
Who are you—Joe Paterno?
