Defining the Enemy in Afghanistan

Posted on 08/16/2012 8:14:28 PM PDT by Advocatus Sancti Sepulchri

In my opinion, the reason the war in Afghanistan has dragged on for over a decade without a clear resolution in sight could be attributed to the fundamental failure of our leadership to identify the enemy, which can be defined in a single word - Islam. I remember repeated instances whereby both Bush & Blair would repeatedly issue proclamations about how this is a religion of “peace” without a shred of tangible evidence from it’s teachings, history, or real world examples. It comes as no surprise that the architect of the so-called “Arab Spring,” Barack Hussein Obama, would declare this even while lying about the fact that he is a closet Muslim. The second reason would be our shift in political thinking, which places more value on the enemy population’s well-being despite it endangering the entire military effort as well as the lives of the soldiers we send into combat.

One has to understand the “perfect” example for the Islamic forces was the prophet Muhammad, who commanded his followers to fight the unbelievers to the ends of the earth, which led to his forces raiding, slaughtering, and conquering Arabia. His companions continued his example and conquered more land and people than the 1,000 history of the Roman Empire from modern-day Pakistan all the way to southern France. He gave them an ideology not unlike Nazism that has waged war on non-Muslims almost continually over the past 1,400 years claiming the lives of an estimated 270 million people.

In fact, if you remove Islam and it’s conflicts in multiple theaters around the world presently, the world would largely be at peace. We see the upheaval in Europe where they wage war through al-Hijrab (mass immigration), we violence throughout the northern portion of Africa, the Middle East is perpetually engaged with the very existence of Israel threatened daily, violence throughout southeast Asia, and Russia is even confronted with it as well. Yet, this is touted as a religion of “peace” by our State Department and the Pentagon has no designs or objectives for fighting this war.

From the onset of the war in Afghanistan, it became a project more concerned with the civilians of the country than the destruction of the enemy. In October 2002, the White House released a press release that more food than bombs were dropped in the country. The military operations have been strangled by absurd rules of engagement designed with the protection of the enemy population rather than our fighting soldiers. We have to acknowledge at some point that the practitioners of Islam will always be our enemies and that all gestures of goodwill are in vain. In the grand scheme, this is just one front in a larger war with a totalitarian ideology and if we had any good sense about it we would work to fight back aggressively and without hesitation.

When discussing history we are acutely aware of the crusaders and their limited campaign into the holy land, but oddly enough there is little mention of the Jihad that preceded by 400 years and necessitated the action to reclaim a small portion of land from Islamic ghazis

As sad as this is, we know that this is a result of Abraham’s unbelief that the Lord could provide his wife Sarah with a baby. Instead of believing the Lord’s plainly spoken Words, Abraham and Sarah decided to have him “sleep with” Hagar. The Ishmaelites (later to be the Muslims) were born—Ishmael is a “wild ass” who will be against all his brothers and the whole world till the end of the age.

Finding Mullah Omar and cleaning out all of the mullahs would be a good start.

It is unfortunate that every government in the world is now controlled by Al Qaeda. If Romney ran on the premise of incapaciting every Islamic population center, he would get every conservative and moderate in America to vote for him. Anyone who defends the existence of Islam in our world is probably a Muslim themselves, and should be ridiculed and exterminated.

Some successfully stood against Islam, but they had to be tough.

First take all their opium (to fund other campaigns against militant Islam), then nuke em till they glow and shoot them in the dark.

The international community does not see them as criminals. Majority of mullahs, maybe even including Omar, did not know about 9/11 in the making. A genocide is always an option, of course (and that's what it will take to rid Afghanistan of mullahs) but I don't think this will be looked at kindly by practically anyone, anywhere. A good number of today's Taliban mullahs were just teenagers in 2001, and they were fighting foreign troops for most of their adult life. Wouldn't we do the same if the USA is occupied, for example, by Chinese troops?

Mullah Omar's guilt is only in the fact that he was a bad administrator. When W wanted OBL extradited Omar started the traditional oriental negotiation dance that is usually scheduled to last a few months. W had no time for that foolishness; Omar's regime was kicked out, and AQ was rounded up, and their training camps are no more.

But after that was done I have no idea what one could do in Afghanistan, short of growing opium or building rock gardens on a scale of Nazca plateau. It's not exactly a friendly land even if you are a local. Are US troops working for the mayor of Kabul, a.k.a. the President of Afghanistan? By all indications they are; Karzai cannot hold even the capital city with his own trusted men. As soon as the US army is out of Afghanistan Karzai will hang from the nearest streetlight. His recent gestures toward reconciliation with Taliban are pointless; Taliban, being true children of their culture, will shake hands with their enemy and immediately order him killed.

In other words, the USA constructed an inverted, unstable pyramid of power in Afghanistan and is simply afraid to upset it. That's why Karzai remains in power, supported by US troops - and that's why the troops cannot leave. Nobody is willing to be responsible for the big crash.

Afghanistan is not a war over ideology. They know we’re not interested in changing their religion. It’s just old thugs worried about losing their control. If we don’t have the stomach to take their lives, then take their livelihood.
