What is the bumper sticker situation in your state? (Here in MA, O stickers are down 90% from '08)

Here's what my lying eyes are telling me here in occupied Massachusetts.

Four years ago every tenth car had an Obama sticker.

Today, I see one or two Obama stickers a day. (And one or two Romney stickers.) I spend 2 hours commuting each day.

So the Obama bumper sticker count in Massachusetts is down by AT LEAST 90%. That's telling. Enthusiasm is WAY down.

What is the bumper sticker count like elsewhere?

I was in a NoCal parking lot of whole foods (palo alto) when I nearly crashed my car. I saw my first VOTE FOR BARBARA BOXER bumper sticker. Not worth the plastic it’s printed on.

But she bleeping won.

Some observations:

In the Spokane Coeur d'Alene corridor, I can count the number of 0bama 2012 stickers on the fingers of one hand and have a finger or two to spare. All of the Zero 08 stickers in the area pretty much disappeared after this monster's first year in office. None of those older ones to be seen today, although recently, I did see a pissed off looking middle aged woman driving a hooptie with a much-faded Kerry-Edwards sticker.

Over the last four years, I have had occasion to travel in the Oregon Willamette Valley - mostly in the Eugene-Salem corridor - in the course of my work. In 2008 and early 2009, you could stand in any Eugene shopping center parking lot, close your eyes, throw a rock, and be assured of hitting a vehicle with an 0bama-Biden sticker on it. As 2009 wore on, the stickers began to disappear. By 2010, they were mostly gone. In 2012, the number of Obamunist bumper stickers and yard signs you could see were vastly reduced.

Conclusion: the thrill is gone, baby. The dirty little lib-fascists are all frowny-faced because their boy didn't usher in the new Socialist millenium. They'll probably stay home come Nov 6.

What's on my vehicle? Take a look

-— I think it’s because, as several posters have said, we are afraid to put Romney or anti Obama stickers on our cars. The shops around here are patronized by African Americans mostly and I have a new car.——

Understandable. But that’s always true. Here in MA, over broad areas, I see fewer Romney than McCain in ‘08, and 90% fewer Zero than Zero ‘08.

I don’t perceive a Republican enthusiasm gap compared to ‘08, so I’m at a loss.

In Upstate SC, a few new 0bama stickers, absolutely none for R/R. No signs for either. The R/R ticket is generating little enthusiasm in SC(Romney lost the primary here).

Many evangelicals and fiscal conservatives in SC may sit this one out rather than voting for what they consider the lessor of two evils.

I work in deep blue Baltimore and live in purple Harford COunty. I didn’t live here in the last election but there are far fewer O stickers than I expected. A decent number of Romney ones.

Someone removed the OMG Obama Must Go sticker from my car. a few weeks ago.

My former boss (and good friend) lived in Boston's South End, and he and I were conservatives up here in MA (We know the secret handshake and such)

I gave him a Bush/Cheney sticker back in 2004, and he was a bit hesitant, as he had a brand new mini-cooper and was worried about having it vandalized, but...he only paused for a second and said: "Of course I am going to put it on my car." The next day he came in, he said both of his windshield wipers had been broken off, and this note stuffed in his window:

No joke. I asked him if I could have it, so I scanned it in. It is almost ridiculously funny (like the communists calling Americans "Running Dog Imperialists" or something like that) if it weren't that these people are so damned deranged.

So a big window decal here in West Virginia that made me laugh: “Vote for Coal, It’s Black”

Here in Palm Beach County, I see more Osama stickers than R&Rs, but not nearly as many as 2008. If I pass a car with an Osama sticker, or pull up next to one, if the driver is a European-American, I just look at him/her and shake my head sadly.

IMHO, SC is conservative mainly on the Pro Life issue, and neither major candidate meets their litmus test. R/R should carry the state, but perhaps with only a plurality. Changing demographics, third party candidates, and the state GOPe’s internal strife could make the outcome in SC closer than it need be.

On one hand, that note makes me outraged. On the other, my secret fantasy is to have a bunch of magnetic blue bumper stickers made that use the “coexist” lettering that say “useful idiot”. I figure people would drive around for a while and not notice that they are being laughed at so heartily.
Seriously, those coexist stickers fill me with rage.

Here in Middle TN I see very few Romney yard signs or bumperstickers

much much less than McPalin stuff

and a lot less Obama but more than Romney...in Nashville town...last election Nashville town was awash in Obama

I think this reflects that most conservatives down here are unenthusiastic with Romney but will vote for him

my wife got a Romney yard sign...maybe one other on our 2 mile long road with 30 homes...no Obama much out here in the rings around Nashville, it’s all in Nashville proper which is the opposite of here...70% liberal in town..the opposite in the 9-11 county ring

I saw more Romney in Michigan last week than here...guess him being from there and less concern over his lack of cultural conservatism up north

Me too, me too. Of all stickers, the people who have those seem the most deficient.
