Yup. . . and “notion.”

I believe "notion" is included is most all Obama speeches or responses. Another one is "let me be clear about this.." It's the only attempt at transparency the man can force himself to do.

We need a paradigm shift in the way we use the word fundamentally. Literally.

“Let me be clear” is what my pastor always says just before a staffer (politely and with great spirituality) “gets it in the caboose.” Father says that, the whole parish winces.

Well then, let me count the cliches on this very thread (excluding those we complain about of course):

sick and tired
What’s the frequency, Kenneth
Sheesh already!
I’m sick of
Right up there
beat me too it
makes me want to scream

“Gaffe” is the single most overused word heard in the news, but not the most annoying word. I hate all of these new, made-up words—bromance, ginormous, pwned...awful.

I have issues with “issues”.

Not to mention “allegedly”

And I used to like “like”, but that one’s way burned out!

Whatever!!!!

Fundamentally . . . yes.

And then there’s the word “notion”. Any time Obama wants to negate and pooh pooh anyone’s opinion; he says “they’ve got the NOTION blah-blah-blah that blah-blah-blah”, as if it’s just a silly “notion” that they concocted in their tiny little pea brains.

Trying to use “in sum” and “at bottom” lately - i think any of those phrases are attempts to make ourselves sound even smarter and signal the profundity of our next few words.
