What does Drudge mean by this "OBAMA LOCK UNDER 10 STATES" Mean? Can someone put this in laymans terms for me? Thanks.
All you need to do is compare today’s stats with those of two weeks ago to see the significance.
Oregon only leans and may move to toss up soon.
Too bad it isn’t “OBAMA UNDER LOCK”.
It means that Romney will win 330-400 electoral votes. that is not the prize though. We need to get the senate. Probably 52-57 R senators.
Definitely both. Here in NJ, it almost always goes D. Which is strange since we have several Republican counties.
10 states with high levels of insanity
DC got 3 electoral votes as a result of the 23rd Amendment. The first time DC got electoral votes was in the 1964 election.
That amendment awards DC electoral votes as if it were a state, but not more than the least populous state.
So it was a constitutional amendment.
Some want to make DC a state. Can you imagine that? There would be 2 automatic liberal Democrat senators always, plus a liberal Democrat congressman always.
The amendment restricts the district to the number of Electors of the least populous state, irrespective of its own population. As of 2011, that state is Wyoming, which has three Electors. However, even without this clause, the district's present population would only entitle it to three Electors. Since the passage of this amendment, the District's electoral votes have gone towards the Democratic candidates in every presidential election.
What are you talking about? In the past Obama supposedly had a “lock” on 300 Electoral Votes in the poll averages, no matter what side one is on, the polls are clearly moving Romney’s way to the point that it is not ASSUMED that Obama is winning. His FLOOR is now Ten states, it doesn’t mean that he will win only 10 states, but that is now his FLOOR.
Why is this so hard to understand?
please go back to sleep, we will have someone wake you up on nov. 7
Naw, DC is too small in acreage and oil/gas production to count separately from MD.
“We need to give DC back to Maryland.”
OH NO WE DON’T!
We’ve already got enough of their overflow freaks, thanks.
Plus, of course, the 17 states that Soros owned Scytl is counting the votes for in Spain...
Where is the media on this?
We are so very saddened to be part of this Obama list—California. To think we produced Reagan. Now we are mindlessly Democrat—ALL the time. Mostly Los Angeles and San Francisco areas, but the rest of us conservative areas suffer for the mindlessness of the millions in those two cities.
Rass needs to get off his butt and start moving most of those toss-ups over to leans Romney.
What planet are you on or are you a Obozo/DU Troll? If so ozone amplification can be arranged. What do you call this?
Latest Virgina Poll:
Bad news for Obozo in VA, FLA and NC:
Latest Florida Polls:
Romney drawing huge crowds in suburban Cleveland:
It’s not hard to understand. I know the polls are moving in Romney’s direction. All I’m saying is the headline makes it sound worse for Obama than it is when you drill down and see Romney has a lock on even less electoral votes.
Anyway, maybe Drudge got tired of us arguing about it because the headline’s gone now. ;)
Obama continues to slide on intrade:
Now below 59% and falling.
in a true election, without fraud, and including all the military votes that have been prevented,
Obama would certainly win less than 10 states.
...and at the rate he’s imploding, it still could happen!
It means Obama has been travelling the country trying to figure out what happened to his gym lock.
I hear ya! Same here in MI my vote never matters. I know they are saying leaning slightly red but I’m not getting my hopes up. Been down this road before:(
Gosh...I love the South!
RCP has these states (156 EVs) in the Toss-up column:
New Hampshire (4)
North Carolina (15)
There is no doubt in my mind (being in Missouri) that Missouri (10) should be in the Leans or Likely Romney category. After Missouri, the states about which I am the most optimistic are Florida (29), North Carolina (15), and Virginia (13). If Romney gets those four states (67 total), that puts him at 248.
22 more to go. Where will they come from? Ohio (18) plus any of the others would do it. Other combinations could work also.
For months I have thought Romney will win with at least 290 EVs, possibly up to 320. If he gets 330 or more, that will exceed my wildest expectations. But now I would say it is possible.
If Obama doesn't have a "lock" on PA, MI, or WI, then he's in much worse shape than pollsters and journalists thought all the way up to now.
What it really means is there are only 10 states were no money needs to spent.....I am sure the re-election team in Chicogo were counting on only having to spend millions in swing states, now they need to spend money either to keep states leaning Obama or the outright toss- ups....
How does DC get 3 electoral votes?
That offsets the whole state of Wyoming. We need to give DC back to Maryland.
We need to reduce DC’s EV’s to zero. They don’t get Senators, they don’t get a Congressman, and they should not have EV’s.
California, Illinois, and New York. Three states that get a TON of food stamps, gov´t subsidies...why is it the people who get the free stuff want to vote for Obama.
OK, give the Eastern Shore to DE and the western parts to WVa.
I don't think we'll get to Reagan's 1984 performance, but it's still my dream.
Fewest Electorial votes you can have are three —two senators and one Rep. Makes you feel warm and cozy to know the crime infested “swamp” has as many delegates as some real states!
I live in Maine.
Obama won Maine in 2008 by 18 points. Currently, Obama is ahead statewide in Maine by 4 points.
Maine has two congressional districts and, like Nebraska, splits their electoral votes based on who wins each congressional district. If Obama wins southern Maine, the First Congressional district, he (Obama) gets one electoral vote. If Romney wins the northern half of Maine....the Second Congressional district, then Romney gets one electoral vote as well. The winner of the statewide popular vote receives two more electoral votes. Maine has a total of four.
In the Second Congressional district, Romney leads by 5 points.
If the Romney campaign made an effort here, I think they could win the entire state of Maine. So far, I haven’t seen any Obama ads and just one Romney ad, on October 1st. Perhaps Team Romney decided to spend their resources in states with bigger electoral vote totals. Who knows.
On the state level, the GOP did well in Maine in 2010. We elected a conservative GOP TEA Party guy, Paul LePage, as governor. The GOP also won control of the Maine House and the Maine Senate, the first time this has happened since the early 1960’s. Now if we could only replace our elected officials on the federal level.....
It may come as a surprise to the democRATS but it would appear that upstate Republicans and independents voting for Romney may overwhelm the libturds from downstate voting for Obunghole.
That WI, MI, and PA are in play is Veeerryyyy interesting
Ann Romney was all over Michigan yesterday, Bill Clinton was in Detroit. The state is in play.
Don’t you mean that it doesn’t look like Romney will ose NC, VA and FL??
Because I sure believe Romney will win all three NC, VA and FL, as well as a bunch more “swing states”.
Yes, that's what I meant.
The list might be smaller after the next debate!
I think he'll take some "blue" states as well--maybe even California, where he's coming up in the polls.
Illinois isn’t a lock.
Given all the effort in Iowa for but 6 votes, ME could be worth more effort.
I would love to see my state of Oregon go for Romney. I think my next door neighbors’ heads would explode.
We have a little surprise coming for the Dims here in Oregon.
It means 47 states are in play.
Obvious troll is OBVIOUS.
