President Obama Descends from America’s First Slave
ancestry ^

Posted on 10/29/2012 8:22:52 AM PDT by traumer

We’ve all heard about President Obama’s Irish roots, and we know his father came from Kenya. But a research team from Ancestry.com, the world’s largest online family history resource, has also concluded that the nation’s 44th president is also the 11thgreat-grandson of John Punch, the first documented African enslaved for life in American history.

And what’s more, the connection comes through President Obama’s Caucasian mother’s family.

This discovery follow years of research by Ancestry.com genealogists who, using early Virginia records and DNA analysis, linked Obama to John Punch. Punch was an indentured servant in Colonial Virginia who fled to escape servitude in 1640. After he was caught, his punishment was enslavement for life. Punch’s is the first documented case of slavery for life in the colonies, occurring decades before slavery laws were enacted in Virginia.

President Obama is traditionally viewed as an African American because of his father’s heritage in Kenya. However, while researching his Caucasian mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, Ancestry.com genealogists found her to have African heritage as well. Their interest piqued, the researchers kept digging. DNA analysis helped confirm that Dunham’s ancestors, known as white landowners in Colonial Virginia, actually descended from an African man. Existing records suggest that this man, John Punch, had children with a white woman who then passed her free status on to their offspring. Some of Punch’s descendants went on to be free, successful land owners in a Virginia entrenched in slavery.

Does this explain the push to enslave the rest of us to FedGov?

There is NO way they can do this. Chances are near nil he would share any DNA, and the records going that far back are questionable, IMO.

Even if true he’s still a horrible POTUS and probably a traitor...so who cares.

As a descendant of an African Moslem, 0bama is far more likely to be a descendant of slave TRADERS, rather than slaves.

Being in the genealogy field for over 20 years (since I was a teen), my observation is that amateur genealogists are almost entirely conservatives.

Professional genealogists, like the ones at New England Historic Genealogical Society and well known ones like Megan Smolenyak and Gary Boyd Roberts, are ultra liberal.

Ms. Smolenyak has written extensively on Obama’s wife’s slave roots, and liberal icons like Rachel Maddow and VP Biden.

She has a blog on HuffingtonPost. I asked her point blank if she just wants a job in the Obama administration. She responded by blocking me and calling a “troll” and “stalker.”

“Free status” was not something one could voluntarily pass on - there were many, many white slaves for that reason.

Hahahahahaha!

One more disengenuous reason to play the race card on his behalf.

WOW! Next they’ll be saying his third cousin is Elizabeth Warren and he has a little Indian blood in him too. We could nickname him Yellow Chicken Feather Slave Token.

Wow, not any slave but the FIRST slave! I always kind of thought they brought a bunch over at the same time, but apparently, there briefly was a time where there was just a single slave in the entire country known as “the first slave”.

Would have really sucked being him.

There it is folks, the race card front and center. The only thing that surprises me is why it took so long to whip it out. Their study must have determined this was the optimal time to come out with it.

Then he is admitting Anthony Johnson started slavery in the US. Anthony Johnson was black.

***Wow, not any slave but the FIRST slave! I always kind of thought they brought a bunch over at the same time,****

From what I have read, the first slaves were treated as “Indentured Servants” and were given their freedom after 17 years. Same for Indentured whites.

John Punch, the first documented African enslaved for life in American history, was owned by A BLACK FREEMAN who took Punch to court and had him made a PERMANENT SLAVE as a result of his attempt to escape his Indentured status.

So, the first slave in New England was owned by a black man.
