Petraeus sex scandalKrauthammer: Petraeus Sex Scandal Will Drive Media Interest In Benghazi
The Daily Caller ^ | 8:28 PM 11/09/2012 | Jeff Poor

Posted on 11/09/2012 5:52:17 PM PST by classified

On Friday’s “Special Report” on the Fox News Channel, Washington Post columnist Charles Krauthammer said the resignation of CIA director David Petraeus was a regrettable situation that might ultimately help shed light on the deadly Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Embassy in Libya.

“We will unravel all the threads of this in time,” Krauthammer said. “We’re just in the first few hours, but I think it’s worth noting what we do know. This is the end of a career of a truly great American. He did something that hadn’t been done by a general since the Inchon landing in the Korean War, when MacArthur by a maneuver managed to save a war that was being lost and save South Korea.”

“No one had done anything like that until David Petraeus did that in 2007 and 2008 in Iraq,” Krauthammer continued. “That was a lost war. It was headed for chaos, civil war, bloodshed and unending trouble for us. And he pulled off a surge that rescued the war. What happened after in Iraq and what happened after in Korea are other stories, but that is undeniable. It is one of the great achievements, and he pulled it off. He distinguished himself in Afghanistan. And whatever happens and whatever we learn, this is a real tragedy.”

When he was in Afghanistan, he should have been more worried about killing the enemy than what some Pastor in Florida was doing with his right of Freedom of Speech.

Ya, and if that jerk-water 'pastor' with his 20 parishioners safe and sound in Florida did not do that stupid meaningless publicity seeking stunt, and if the MSM does not blast that nonsense around the world, maybe we have less brave US soldiers killed in Afghanistan.

You want to support that ass hole pastor right to 'free speech'? Talk to the families of those that died because of his publicity stunt.

If he were really a 'man of God', shouldn't he go to Afghanistan and burn the Koran there? It's his right to free speech, after all.

You want to wave a red flag in front of a bull... go for it dude... I'll hold your beer for you. But I ain't coming to help you when you have a hone up your butt.

But the guys in uniform have to came and help you no matter how stupid you are.

The entire damn thing was a publicity stunt that got a lot of soldiers killed. That sucks, and its on that pastors soul, IMHO.

Charles is being optimistic. With the Great Dictator and his suck-ups all over this country, what will happen?

We have Freedom of Speech, deal with it. It’s the ridiculous Rules of Engagement that are getting our soldiers killed, not the stupid pastor.

He’s a good man who’s being used by a bunch of political scumbags in the Administration to cover their ass.

Sometimes Kraut is just too amazing...
he has so much beltway-itis that everything that happens is in a political context...
People don’t give a sh!t about Benghazi. If they did, Obutthead would be out on his a**. Now with a pretty girl, emails about doing it under a desk, a dorky older man...everyone will be caught up in the salacious details and forget about the deaths of 4 heroes, the betrayal of a devoted wife, husband and children...and just chortle over how lucky the bastard is...
There will be NO justice for Benghazi...NONE!

We have Freedom of Speech, deal with it.

They dealt with it.

The 'Pastor' is an idiot pulling a publicity stunt. I blame the media for blowing a back yard stunt into and international incident that cost good men their lives.

Where does the word Responsibility come into play here?

From what I’ve heard, he didn’t admit it until the FBI found the emails...
not too sure he stood up and admitted it because it was the right thing to do.

So, blame the media.....and you know if the Pastor didn’t do anything, the Muzzies would have just made something up.

So would you have criticized Walt Disney for “In Der Fuehrer’s Face” during WWII? Why do Muslim’s get a pass from being offended?

You might be right... I don’t know. But I give him the respect that he stepped down before it showed up in the National Enquirer or became a nightly feature on Hollywood Tonight. ;~))

You really do have a cartoon view of the world and the struggle we are in now.

Maybe so. These guys can be switch hitters. Wesley Clark said shortly after becoming a Democrat: “I would have been a Republican if Karl Rove had returned my phone calls.”

Krauthammer has such a way of presenting things that you almost think that what he says will actually happen, but sometimes I think he is totally naive.

Anyone else feel this way?

Yes.
