Our Government would like us to think of it as a Great Benefit to us all
but thru decades of greed it has mis-managed our affairs to the point where we are all headed for the Poor House, if wea re not already there.
Government does not think of it as as “great blessing” to us. They think of it as buying more votes for themselves.
Well, it’s good to note that such a vastness of government and largess is unsustainable, and when the economy goes, much of the government and its vices will go with it.
It is one of the principles of government throughout history that “government efficiency”, a simple ratio of what government promises vs. what it delivers, determines whether a government continues or falls.
If a government promises little, it doesn’t really matter what it promises, if it delivers. Thus it is on solid ground.
But if a government promises any amount, and does not deliver on its promises, then it will likely fail.
Thus, that our government has long promised more than it could even theoretically deliver, it is a good sign that it will crash down, hard. How this crash happens, how long it takes to happen, and how the pieces will be picked up is all open for debate.
But I suppose that those in government who now think of themselves as gods and demigods, will not be well remembered. “Their names will be carved from the temple walls, their monuments torn down, their burial chambers looted with their mummies thrown into cesspits, and their children will be stripped and left to run naked through the streets.”
