HAPPY CATURDAY TO AMY’S PLACE!

The Naming Of Cats

The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter,
It isn't just one of your holiday games;
You may think at first I'm as mad as a hatter
When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.
First of all, there's the name that the family use daily,
Such as Peter, Augustus, Alonzo or James,
Such as Victor or Jonathan, George or Bill Bailey--
All of them sensible everyday names.
There are fancier names if you think they sound sweeter,
Some for the gentlemen, some for the dames:
Such as Plato, Admetus, Electra, Demeter--
But all of them sensible everyday names.
But I tell you, a cat needs a name that's particular,
A name that's peculiar, and more dignified,
Else how can he keep up his tail perpendicular,
Or spread out his whiskers, or cherish his pride?
Of names of this kind, I can give you a quorum,
Such as Munkustrap, Quaxo, or Coricopat,
Such as Bombalurina, or else Jellylorum-
Names that never belong to more than one cat.
But above and beyond there's still one name left over,
And that is the name that you never will guess;
The name that no human research can discover--
But THE CAT HIMSELF KNOWS, and will never confess.
When you notice a cat in profound meditation,
The reason, I tell you, is always the same:
His mind is engaged in a rapt contemplation
Of the thought, of the thought, of the thought of his name:
His ineffable effable
Effanineffable
Deep and inscrutable singular Name.

Genuflectimus non ad principem sed ad Principem Pacis!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

Yes, the dog DID do it!
MY dog!
(With an entire new roll
And she shredded every single piece!)
I can't leave her 'alone' for two minutes!

Are they having problems, too? I started to change over to them once, but a friend had so much trouble, I decided it wasn’t worth it. LOL!

Well it may be MY fault.

I have over 18,000 photos stored there.

Yep. That’s an 18, a comma, and THREE ZEROS.

That’s a LOT of pictures! I don’t even know how many I have on Fotki. I need to weed them out, but keep thinking “oh, I might use this”. Famous last words of a pack rat! :)

Every time I remove a pic, I regret it.

I use Tinypic only and really, I seldom have any trouble. I am very happy with using it. Now if I had the energy and get up to go get something to post. Had some errands and took one nap so far....LOL! Not sure I will get to posting or not.....its just one of those days!

I haven’t had too much trouble with it lately, but every time I try to change pics, I get the MAC “Spinning Pinwheel of Death” (like the hourglass on a PC)

I’ve been there, done that, many times in my lifetime. It was kitties and/or dogs with us all the time. The kids always wanted animals around and we tried to be good parents....LOL! The kids always promised they would help with everything....you know the pitch. I was always the one who did it all. Kids just aren’t going to take on that big responsibility so Mom’s always do. But I did love all the animals we ever had and cried my eyes out when they passed away. Its hard to go through. When my last Sheltie died, I cried forever and said then “I’m never going to love another animal as it tears my heart out when they go. And I haven’t had anymore.

For one thing, hubby passed away and he did help with some things and I guess I just don’t want any responsibility except myself. Guess thats the sign of getting older.

Isn’t it wonderful and fun what we can find on the internet? There’s hardly nothing we can’t find if we just look. Guess thats why we enjoy it so much!!
